Shadow of the Colossus - Games

God i rented this game so many times, i think i beat like 5 times.

One of the absolute best games I've ever played. I remember fighting the last boss for some forty minutes before realizing you can get to him really easily by just running through the tunnels in his arena. :v:

I have to say it was revolutionary. For a game to look so awesome with great gameplay and lots of story, it was like the Uncharted 2 of its time. The only thing I regret is that I never bought it.

I always wanted to play this game but I sold my ps2 and got a ps3 but its not backwards compatible.

I would be so happy if there was a Shadow of the Colossus PS3 remake/sequel that uses the same kind of gameplay. The Last Guardian doesn't seem to have a focus on giant bosses :(

Playing it on a backwards compatible PS3 made my eyes hurt, even with the smoothing, the bumped up resolution makes the contrast of the blacks and whites painful on a larger LCD tv. Wish they would remake it so it didn't have to be stretched, HD version? Love this game anyways.

God, this has got to be the best ps2 game. I remember when i finally got all the special items on hard mode.

The postcards which were with the first copies of the game were so nice I never sent them out. Also, CunningHam, that's a nice long post of the game. The boss (seventh I believe), the first flying one... When I got to it and saw him perched on his pole, I was like "Ahh yeah, let's go..." and I saw him fly around and noticed the platforms. I got on one of them and knew exactly what to do. I jumped on his wing as he swooped at me, soaring and struggeling going 100mph with THAT MUSIC made for THE BEST moment in video games ever, for me. the flying serpent boss (Phalanx I believe he is called) is my favorite of the Colossi. the fact that he is the biggest of them all makes battling him all the more epic.

I heard from this game so many times and I'd love to finally play it. I never had a PS2, so chances are slime that I ever play it :sigh: Fuck it being a student and having no money :argh:

This game REALLY took advantage of all of the PS2's processing power- It was gorgeous, even by today's standards. Quite poetic, too.

Best PS2 Game I've ever played. Ive must have beat it 4 or 5 times now.

The Boar was in the chasm close to the big stone bridge. You mention two separate feline colossi, which made me question if the game had 3 small colossi. No biggie.

I think the eel one was worse, TIME YOURSELF IN GETTING TO THE RIGHT SPOT OTHERWISE SPEND 8 MINUTES WAITING FOR THE CHANCE TO COME AGAIN

The waiting was annoying, but I found him at least fun to fight. Last colossus was really basic in the tactics, but looked so awesome I didn't mind. Boar and Lion scared the shit out of me since they were fast and vicious. Luckily they were quite easy, however.
