Can anyone explain to me the whole "Shitty Wizard" thing?
Can anyone explain to me the whole "Shitty Wizard" thing?
Model was placeholder, people laugh at model, Finol is the shitty wizard, all heroes have a shitty/crummy wizard line. I don't get why it's funny but that's what it is.
Can anyone explain to me the whole "Shitty Wizard" thing?
Joke about Finol, temp model for ranged creep, now in-joke in Dota 2.
treant with shivas is satisfying Use your ult, then shivas near the end to slow them on release <3
4 sword slashes looks like claws how?
Do you not notice it?
Do you not notice it?
I notice it, didn't even know it wasn't claws until now. [editline]11th September 2012[/editline] Did the wiki remove what level of difficulty heroes were? It seems to be gone, which is good.
Why is that good? It was a good indicator for newbies to not try heroes that are hard. It would be nice to have it somewhere, just have more information of why it is for "new" or "intermediate" people.
The fact it was wrong in some places was misleading. The Dota-centric broadcast will be a weekly production about topical news and events, with each episode running for approximately 90 minutes, signed-up to join him for each episode will be perhaps the most charismatic and insightful pair we could ever ask for - Troels 'syndereN' Nielsen – and Clement 'Puppey' Ivanov, team captains of mTw and Na'Vi respectively! wtf I can't play, when I find a match it says I need to update because my map differs from the server's but there doesn't seem to be an update
Nyx Assassin is so cool but I just can't play him at all.
I've never seen him do well unless when playing with brain dead people, and even then he doesn't makes a big slaughter or anything, and most of the times I play him, EVEN with the full vendetta>impale>mana burn>few taps>dagon, they just DON'T DIE. Imagine when you don't have dagon yet... Which is sad, because he looks really cool. [editline]11th September 2012[/editline]
Nyx late game is basically being really picky with your targets. Having items that are not retarded help too (NO physical damage, think like an Int hero).
So... Dagon only? But wont Vendetta's damage fall behind a bit without some damage items or...???
Dagon 5, Ethereal Blade, Scythe of Vyse, Necro 3. All in his situational items.
Dagon 5, Ethereal Blade, Scythe of Vyse, Necro 3. All in his situational items.
Thats near impossible of getting. Heck, getting a dagon is already hard enough when he's such a flimsy little guy. I'd need to go chinese mode.
You don't need all of them.. Generally Dagon 1 is sufficient if you get it early enough, following up with either EB or Scythe will make you more potent/useful later in the game.
http://www.gosugamers.net/dota2/news/21071-quantic-are-down-to-three Can't say it's a big loss
where was that picture with Nyx having no helmet on and looking really cute
So... Dagon only? But wont Vendetta's damage fall behind a bit without some damage items or...???
Nyx is like Venge in which you don't really build them like Agi heroes. Consider the fact that Dagon is a legit recommended item on Nyx. I would never upgrade the Dagon past 1 but I would really consider getting something like a Scythe, even over an Ethereal Blade, because it's far more useful in the late game for your team. It keeps you in the game.
I like how most Invoker players act much like Invoker himself - a huge ass They'll do okay and as soon as you lose it's everybody's fault besides his and he's giving out advice and calling people faggots all the way to endgame.
I've had so many games where Invokers try to steal my kills using that global fire column thing.
Outcarrying anti mage with dirge. I mean, I get kills without doing a thing really :v: Anti mage dying to zombies... what
I just had the best comeback ever, our whole team was just under performing against and fed bounty hunter. The game was pretty much over at the 30 minute mark, but our Rubick managed to steal the Black Hole which I interrupted as Sand King, then we got everything in it + epicenter. After that we just turtled, only had teamfights if all our abilities were up, stretched the game to 1 hour and 15 minutes with a spectre and won. Sand king is a pretty cool hero, I love his voice.

You guys probably get this a lot but I'm just starting up on Dota 2 and quite literally my first of this genre. I played with two people who know what they're doing and they've showed me some stuff. I really like Sand King, is it okay to stick to one Hero? (I will pick randomly in the future, though) I understand how to deal with creeps at a very basic level (last hit, deny, farm xp etc), I buy the suggested items at the start, then boots + mana upgrade and then get the dagger that teleports. I understand how to use the courier. I've currently (probably only temporarily) bound the 6 inventory slots to 1-6 on the long number keys as the keypad is too far away and I don't have crazy MMO-fingers or a Naga-type mouse. In general though, the game is very daunting but very enjoyable against bots so far. The itemization seems very in-depth (the most in-depth I've gotten with itemization in gaming is Diablo 3, prior to that most games I've played/do play involve quite simple itemization). I'm also looking into resources for learning, so links to external sites aren't super necessary unless you think I may not have seen it (but just using the Dota 2 Reddit alone has lead me to some great outlets for info). In the short term though, do you guys have any advice for me or would like to comment on what I've said above? :) This game is lots of fun but I can tell right away it's gonna take some time to get to a level where I won't get trash talked too much for playing pubs as a noob :p

You'll most likely lose a ton when you first start out anyway so the best attitude would probably be to just not care and take the time to learn them while you're in a more forgiving skill setting.

Before I started playing I took some time and read what every single hero was capable of, abilities, what items they are most likely buy. That really helped me out at the start. I'm still pretty new at the game but I noticed that I've become a lot better than I was when I started.
Nyx late game is basically being really picky with your targets. I get plenty of variety and I can still go back and know how to play them if I need to.
