is hon really a 1:1 copy?
pretty much thats why you can do hon v dota comparisons much easier than dota v league
That list doesn't have all of the characters. I remember downloading HoN out of boredom and picking a character that was just like Lycan. I think his name was War Demon or something.
I came directly from HoN. I don't know half the items names, even though they're mostly the same in effect. Trying to replicate my custom Spirit Breaker(?) build is hard when Shaman's Headdress and Firebrand have new names, yo.
no Sange and Yasha is Hack n' Slash, not Frostburn if you were going to build that and it sucks dick. Not sure why you would build an Agi, MS item on spirit breaker anyway.

sange & yashe is pretty good on bara, I dunno what you're complaining about
is hon really a 1:1 copy?
Almost. It's basicly DotA but easier, HoNs Bloodseeker puts a debuff on what he hits, and if it dies with that debuff he is healed. Their Midas earns a charge every 90 seconds, for a maximum of 2 charges, so it's easier to use, and harder to waste. Etc etc. I love how when we derail to talk about HoN everyone is all sweet with it, and everything is still happy-go-lucky, but when we derail to talk about LoL everyone gets man becuse RIOT is shit and summoner levels are bad, etcetc. It really goes to show that the community know what's good, and what they like.
and things like leshrac which are top picks here are not viable in hon (see: torturer)
I played HoN but not a ton of it (not like the amount of LoL I played -_-) and I was having a conversation with someone here about the differences between it and DotA. Something that was brought up that I couldn't answer was why is Warbeast so shit in HoN but Lycan so good in DotA?

He's tanky as all fuck, fast in both movement and attack and regeneration is all badshit. I've done this many many times where i beat their shit like i was Anti Mage, yet shrugged their damage as if i was Armadon. It was my own experimenting build and it turned out absolutely crazy. I did a similar one with Sniper/Beastwood and i ended up doing 450 DBG a hit, 2.5 hits a second with slight stun effect. I'd rather experiment and fail than get all boring and static. Then it's no fun. It's good practice since it also mentally gears you for adapting your build to your team, rather than the theoretic golden build for the hero alone. Also what the hell is MS? English please?
...you've played HoN but you don't know what "MS" means? What the hell did they call Movement Speed then?
Imagine a situation in an All Random where the whole team is Int support. One of you will HAVE to gear towards an attempt at tanking and someone will HAVE to attempt to make something out of their feeble Auto-Attack. If you all just play strictly to the hero-role, you're going to get stomped easy.
He gains bonus damage from movespeed.
Why not use a MoM then.
because what the fuck who needs to be tanky anyways!

Maximum of 3 charges. Chilled Effects: 5% Movement Slow per charge.

Gives a chance on attack to slow for 4 seconds. Maim Chance: 15% Movement Speed Slow: 30% Attack Speed Slow: 30%
No it isnt.
Why not use a MoM then.
Obvious troll is obvious. But seriously, I'll assume you didn't read the part where he mentioned that his character was "TANKY"? What part of "Takes 30% bonus damage" equates to tanky? Not to mention, the str and slow that Sange provide is invaluable, and the armour that Yasha gives is useful on any hero that wants to also attack faster.
stack reavers then stack hearts for maximum tankiness
because what the fuck who needs to be tanky anyways!
yeah, lets build an agility item on a Strength based hero when he could use his money in a better way for minimal ehp. Damage Reduction = (0.06 × Armor) ÷ (1 + 0.06 × Armor)
I think Boots of Travel is staple on Spirit Breaker. You can TP while charging and easily get out of any sticky situation.

I heard Eul's is also good on Spirit Breaker as well. It gives good movement speed and mana regen. You can regen all the mana you spend on charge WHILE you charge!!! Don't forget its sweet active!
Dumb question time! I like int heroes recently, fan of Lina and Necro, but i never know what to buy when i've had a good farm/team fight, like i know how much a daedalus gives damage wise, but i really don't know for ranged int heroes. :c
I had a Spirit Breaker build BoT (never teleported), MoM, Yasha and Eul's. We had to carry him.
Tobi was talking about how back when Spirit Breaker was played in competitive games (this must've been a really fucking long time ago) they would build BoT purely for the movement speed. I don't know if I trust Tobi but he's like the only person in the world who gives a shit about Spirit Breaker so who knows.

Personally, I get Arcane Boots, two Bracers, and then it depends on what is happening in the game. If we need more CC I'll get a Scythe (or a Eul's alternatively) but if we're good on CC and playing well in teamfights I'll just go straight for an Agh's and get a Scythe after. Necrolyte is a totally different beast though. Necrolyte is a carry believe it or not and he operates on the idea that the longer you're alive the more effective you are. That seems like a no shit statement for every hero, but Heartstopper Aura is amazing and you need to be alive for an extended time for it to be effective. Death Pulse is easily spammable and should be spammed like mad in teamfights. I get Arcane Boots into Mek and then a situational defensive item (Pipe, Shiva's, Heart eventually, Agh's is good too). You need to build tanky. E: I don't like Bloodstone on him but if you can get one quick enough it's good. Personal preference.
in HoN you could go assassin's shroud on pyromancer just for fun activate it then burst some unsuspecting dude down to nothing obviously only worked in pub games
Well fuck me. For some reason I thought all this time that Boots of Travel gave you a passive movement bonus if you weren't attacked for some time. Don't ask me why.
like boots of mobility in league :v:
I think Boots of Travel is staple on Spirit Breaker. You can TP while charging and easily get out of any sticky situation.
Really ? I do believe Charge breaks on actions like channeling.
Really ? I do believe Charge breaks on actions like channeling.
I think it works like if you TP immediately after you charge you can still TP out. The same thing happens when you Waveform and immediately TP.
