I love Lina. Personally, I get Arcane Boots, two Bracers, and then it depends on what is happening in the game. If we need more CC I'll get a Scythe (or a Eul's alternatively) but if we're good on CC and playing well in teamfights I'll just go straight for an Agh's and get a Scythe after. Necrolyte is a totally different beast though. Necrolyte is a carry believe it or not and he operates on the idea that the longer you're alive the more effective you are. That seems like a no shit statement for every hero, but Heartstopper Aura is amazing and you need to be alive for an extended time for it to be effective. Death Pulse is easily spammable and should be spammed like mad in teamfights. I get Arcane Boots into Mek and then a situational defensive item (Pipe, Shiva's, Heart eventually, Agh's is good too). You need to build tanky. E: I don't like Bloodstone on him but if you can get one quick enough it's good. Personal preference.
You seem to have forgotten Force Staff (or a Blink Dagger in Lina's case).
I think it works like if you TP immediately after you charge you can still TP out. The same thing happens when you Waveform and immediately TP.
Allright, I did test this a bit and it's rather funny. If you try to TP the moment you start charge/while charging, charge will cancel, unless you double-tap TP (i.e. home tp).
You seem to have forgotten Force Staff (or a Blink Dagger in Lina's case).
Yes, Blink Dagger. I get a Blink Dagger after the Bracers. Don't know why I forgot about that since I get one every game as her.
Yeah, i have the tendency to go arcane -> bracer -> staff, it's by that time im completely lost on what next. :v but thank
Can't remember/be arsed to look up the specifics but I think that the values for the damage gain for him and his minions are higher and his ult is stronger in dota.
I think also Roshan/Kongor is much tougher, so that he can't be soloed as easily.
I don't really think Agh's is worth it on Lina, Veil actually gives her ult more damage then it and the bonus damage also applies to her other abilities as well as any other magic damage on your team. As far as other items go bracer and drums are definitely good on her. She's also a decent mek carrier if your team doesn't already have one. I'd get force over blink on her for the extra survivability it provides. Ghost scepter is a good choice if you're dealing with somebody like lycan who is all physical damage, you could even upgrade it to ethereal for the lulz if you wanted. Also, I've never actually used it, but I've been thinking that rod of atos could be good on her since it gives her tank as well as a way so pretty much guarantee that she lands her stun.
Well fuck me. For some reason I thought all this time that Boots of Travel gave you a passive movement bonus if you weren't attacked for some time. Don't ask me why.
Striders best boots in HoN.

Veil is nice but situational. Depends on how much magic damage your team has. I only get Mek and/or Drum on her is there is really no one else. I think I've had to do it once and I was the only Int on the team and I still got Blink/Agh's that game so it was not bad. Force Staff doesn't give her any more survivability than a Blink Dagger and, in comparison, it gives her less. Blink Dagger also let's you gank and even initiate on one or two targets far more reliably. I would never get a Force Staff over a Blink Dagger if I had to pick one for a character like Lina. Ghost Scepter is a completly situational item. Rod of Atos wouldn't be that good on her. Might as well build an Agh's imo. :v:

And I only said to get ghost if they have somebody like lycan. I also fail to see how agh's is better then atos considering atos is just as easy to build, cheaper, gives you about the same amount of health and mana, and it offers you actual utility instead of just a bit of extra damage.

Sure it gives you distance like a Blink Dagger (still not as much) but with a character like Lina you don't just need it for escape. Force Staff isn't as good of an initiation tool. Rod of Atos...I just don't like it on Lina. I've never needed an additional slow and I like the buff from Agh's and I'm not auto-attacking nearly enough for all that +Int to do any good.
Rod of Atos is terrible on everything that isn't OD or silencer, and even there it's generally useless.
Rod of Atos is terrible on everything that isn't OD or silencer, and even there it's generally useless.
you're forgetting skywrath
I like Rod of Atos on OmniKnight and Pugna. there is no such thing as too much slow. and usually necro>SnY for omni right? i felt like I was missing something one match. Reno and I had the best single draft game today. we both got one of our top heroes (keeper n skeleton king) and proceeded to dominate. the best part was that everyone on their team was pretty squishy and our team had so much coordination. recalling people into ganks that go flawlessly feels gooooooood. recalling a tidehunter with 1/10th of his health to get crit-ed by PA, not so good. what are good items for keeper? I usually end with BoT,mek,euls... thats usually it. is he that item independent?
and usually necro>SnY for omni right?
I would never get an SnY on Omni.
Earlier I was in a match where both teams randomed. Our team got all carries and their team had only supports. I learned that omni can carry.
Rod of Atos is terrible on everything that isn't OD or silencer, and even there it's generally useless.
I'm going to try atos next time I pick silencer
I like Rod of Atos on OmniKnight and Pugna. there is no such thing as too much slow.
I saw someone going orb of venom on omni, took me a while to realise that it was actually a good idea
Am I crazy for building Vlad's on Omni? I like it for the aura, mostly. The health steal is just a bonus.
I'm going to try atos next time I pick silencer I saw someone going orb of venom on omni, took me a while to realise that it was actually a good idea
yea whenever i go omni I get orb of venom. Also, vlads is nice on him if no one else has one. Gives your team a nice aura, and melee carries life steal.
You should grab a vlads instead of the carry, one more free slot for them to use for something else.
Had a moment the other day which made me feel good about ruining a random assholes day. Was in a match, pick Pudge before anyone on my team even highlights another hero. Random invoker, figure I'd go side lane. Get into game, two people with no selection. Guy last picks morphling and instantly starts raging. 40 minutes of him yelling at everything someone does and just being a general douche bag. This morph is actually carrying us now but refused to push, insist his shit talking is allowed because of how bad we are and goes to solo rosh. I walk in right before it dies and put an item in his inventory, take aegis. He flips shit and goes back to farming literally saying "I'm done, I am fucking done" for about 5 minutes. We win on the next push us four "bads" attempt because I was able to tank everything, revive, and destory with rot.
Rod of Atos is terrible on everything that isn't OD or silencer, and even there it's generally useless.
It's still dumb
Rod of atos is the sheepsticks retarded cousin that got in a car accident, I mean look at it, theres seriously a dent in the rod

You should grab a vlads instead of the carry, one more free slot for them to use for something else.
I buy Vlads whenever I can as a support. Such a good aura.
what are good items for keeper? I usually end with BoT,mek,euls... thats usually it. is he that item independent?
yes, kotl really is item independant, and for the same reason as lich, as he has infinite mana sustain to cast his abilities. Mek, and usually tranquils, are core but that's because he's so squishy. Extensions can include a pipe, vlads, scythe and orchid. If you end up with too much money: buy wards and smokes, and general utility items like force staff and veil. Buy dust/gems as appropriate.
Uh, those are some of the first things you should buy as KotL, not "if you have too much money".
Agreed. KotL gets SO much money, if you're not buying wards and stuff from the first minute you're playing him wrong.
[t]http://puu.sh/15V2l/220b6205568dea672e3122c45abef4ad[/t] is this supposed to happen
Uh, those are some of the first things you should buy as KotL, not "if you have too much money".
you should buy force staff and veil first? be careful what you highlight :P i could have written "buy stat items like bracers if you're behind" but you should be doing that anyway. the reason why I wrote that statement is loading kotl with items is dumb because most of the time you'll be too squishy to actually use them (i.e shivas, dagon, etc require you to be in a pretty close radius to the enemy team to actually hit them with, and kotl is positioning dependant), so you should be loading up on buffs/auras that you can give your team because then you can still be behind everyone but use your items to full effectiveness.
I just had a case of "Anti-Mage, out of fucking nowhere." https://dotabuff.com/matches/41389295 All three of the guys with dashes in their name randomed. My buddy, in his infinite stubbornness, locked Bounty Hunter because they had Riki and he doesn't trust that Slardar as far as he could throw him. In retrospect that might have been a good thing but at the time I hated him for it. I sigh heavily and do the only thing I can, which is lock Windrunner and hope to God this doesn't suck. They had a issue with Mirana and Lina mid but eventually Lina left and I was outlaning Mirana like a champ. Anti-Mage laned top and I think went 1-3, not in the first 10 min but something close to that. He did the only thing he could after that: farmed the jungle like the game depended on it (and it did). While he was off doing that we lost all our tier 1 and 2 towers except T2 top and mid. (I think). It was pretty bad for a while. Then Anti-Mage came out of the jungle and the fun stopped for everyone. I don't know how he pulled it off but for getting his ass kicked in the lane he had a Battlefury by 20 min and a Vanguard/Yasha by 30. There was a fight at our middle T2 tower where I got a double kill and Anti-Mage got a triple and I finally thought "I think we won." It was downhill for the other team for the rest of the game. Anti-Mage: no fun allowed.
i like how there's a fake catz in your game.
