Mek seems useless, often when I play I'll rely on a much cheaper item early game such as a bottle that refills both my mana and health - this way any gold saved is put towards stat items such as oblivion staff/force staff/refresher orb. When you're playing a hero such as outworld, every single item slot counts and you're missing out lategame if you're carrying an item that isn't boosting your int (however yes I do usually build force staff). When I start balling with a refresher, aghs, scythe (and treads, force staff and magic wand) 250 health from a mek seems extremely useless.
you're missing the point then
Consider the mekansm: it's effectively a vanguard (Mek gives you 250 HP + 2 armor on demand, and 4 HP regen, which is about a vanguard) without the damage block, something that is useless late game, but it's own stats (+5 all atr, +5 armor) helps more than a vanguard does.
The reason why mek is picked up is similar to the vanguard is if you want to not die so easily in the mid game and actually be made of something other than glass (even if it's cardboard) before you can farm up other core and extension items.
If you don't want the mek you could pick up a rod of atos for the extra hp, and you wouldn't have to throw it out late game because it's still extra int.
e:
why are you holding onto a magic wand late game
you're not a support
e2:
astral at lvl4 removes ~100 mana pool per cast, which is often anywhere between 1/3rd and and 1/10th of a hero's mana pool at that point (lvl7)
this is fucking game breaking for a lot of str and agi heroes, and a massive pain in the arse for int heroes.
magic wand is usually the last thing I sell.

Is vladmir's a good item for meepo? I read quite a few build guides but none of them really included it, but I see most meepos using it.

its good but not as good as blink dagger, boots of travel or maybe hex and shit like that

You make good points, I don't understand though, when did a magic wand remotely become a support item? It's usually the very last thing I sell, such a useful item for the little +3 attributes and 225 health/mana, it's saved my life more than hundreds of times. I've barely ever sold it late game and I usually finish with it, even if I have completed my item build and started saving for buy back.
i'll be playing some dota

And again.... I felt like a dick because I really dominated Alch in the solo lane. :v:
He is easy and OP imho.
"Herpaderp hes OP because I can own bad people with a hero known for pubstomping"
This is why everyone gets mad at you.
Also, dominating an Alchemist isn't some feat of extreme power.

So, I just looked into TA and apparently refraction gives 80 bonus damage with no catch.
That means a TA can deal 280 + -8 armor + the actual base damage and items.
I really wish they just reworked TA, its one of the most unfun heroes I've ever seen, and on top of that you get massive boosts for nothing. (Losing a battle? at 10% HP when the enemy at 100% is following you? Just use Meld, the bonus damage, then meld, then the bonus damage, then he has no choice but to run because nobody in pubs plays Earthshaker or buys wards, and this scenario not even including refraction)
Theres no way to escape a TA if he first aims for you and you can't win 1v1, and refraction might ruin it for heroes that COULD win 1v1 (Lion, Lina)
it's just that track lets him ball hard basically. If you start ballin', you ball hard.
it's more that if you have a real carry on your team track accelerates their farm super fast
you are not a baller, you are a ballingness-bestower. a wingman, basically
Feels good when my win/loss with my favorite hero gets tarnished by feeding silencers and nagas with broken R keys

Even worse when it comes out of nowhere, slashing your guts for half of your life or more, and throwing a shuriken in your face.

I supposed I worded it badly
Don't get me wrong wand is a good item, but it loses it's luster late game and you can drop easily drop the wand for a refresher/aghs/scythe if you have a mek.
It's basically a full charge wand you can share without the mana gain (which you dont need) with better stats.

Never fucking give up. We were on the ropes for over a half hour and we never stopped defending, never stopped poking and prodding, never stopped trying to win and we pulled it out. It took a good catch at Roshan for an aegis steal but we did it. Big W.
Lich also completely rage quit at the very end. As we were killing the throne he left the game and abandoned. :v:
I just love Treant. He is like Tidehunter but more.
why is he always compared to tidehunter? I'm actually curious.
As Sven, I usually go for the Quelling Blade to help me last hit along with a clarity and an iron branch.
I try and build Mana-boots as quickly as possible so I can use Storm-Hammer often.
Then I usually go for the components of the Black King Bar, and after that, I go for the Heart of Tarrasque.
Is that a good build for Sven?

I'm sorry you're gonna have to start paying for our friendship and it will have a base payment of that courior

His guise is GREAT for heroes who can benifit from it. Guising pudge lets him set up hooks right. Guising enigma lets him come in with a black hole at the right time, ect.

No no, don't casually walk in. Go invis then casually walk in.
Ninja of the Hidden Leaf village style :)

you uh
kinda messed up your quote
It's great when you play Rubick and Brewmaster just keeps running into you with his ult.

Nice, sadly the effect isn't that great, but it's one of the most valuable couriers anyway.
It's great when you play Rubick and Brewmaster just keeps running into you with his ult.
Picking Rubick vs a Brewmaster is one of the most fun things to do in Dota. Most of the horrible Brewmasters you will see in pubs never remember to Clap or Haze if they can right after Primal Split ends, so you end up turning the fight around with his electrifying ulti.
Rubick makes me want to get good at Rubick.
Rubick makes me want to get good at Rubick.
I dunno how one can be bad with him :/
But yeah, almost every spells are great to steal by our greenysh friend, even things like Howl, Blood rage and breath fire
Of course, things like Owerpower or Lifebreak would be useless :) Though it is fun to use them for lasthit killing, just for the taste of their own medicine
I hesitate a lot when it comes to Spell Steal.
