I've never had one and I play all the time. Sometimes I just leave it on for 6 hours, come back and play some more.
I've only gotten RROD when unplug the video cable. No other reasons. And my XBOX is 3 years old.
That's not the RROD, RROD is 3 quadrants not 4, 4 just means that the video cable is unplugged or not plugged correctly.
I thought they had some law suit, so now the RROD warranty is life-time
Well, not really. But when you send your Xbox in for repairs they will give you an extra years guarantee. That's what they did to me when i got the E74
If a red ring doesn't kill it, maybe a laser or the CD drive will if your lucky. [editline]07:47PM[/editline] Mine had a failing laser. Then the whole drive stop spinning CD.
E74 error is what you have to worry about now. 3 3 red light errors and now I am on my 4th box which is currently being repaired for the E74 error.
Don't play it 24/7 or leave it on for days and it should be fine. And don't borther with the intercooler shit. It makes things worse.

Should of got a PS3, they're far superior and don't have issues like RRoD.

I got an RROD before, all I did was unplug the xbox, waited a few minutes, plugged it back in, and it worked.
Though the 360 does have the highest rate of breakage of any console out there, keep it either sideways on on the 360 "Zigzag" which you can get for about 80$ I think. It holds your 360 upright, about 10 games near it, and 4 controllers. Just keep a cooling system on it all the time, keep it in an open area, not in a corner ot the or right against a wall, take a few hours away from it every few other hours, and it should last long. And never, EVER use the "mirical fixes" if you do happen to get the RROD. It only makes it worst.
The new generation consoles dont RROD anymore.
