In MW1 the only people that used mics that I encountered were helpful to the team. In MW2 and Blops, I've yet to run into someone who even uses a mic. The best thing about Half-Life is that, even today, it's unrivaled in it's presentation of a first-person narrative. The game never takes you out of character and actually immerses you in the story and world by having you experience the story, not just telling it to you.
This is one of the main problems with Call of Duty, it doesn't even come close to doing any of this. As a first-person narrative it just feels completely static and disjointed. It wouldn't even matter that there's no character development or plot if the way the game played was at least immersive and gripping, but it's not in the slightest.

Maybe not ground breaking, but I wanna know how Single Player turns out (Also all around the world, pretty cool), and of course Multiplayer. Though it won't stop me from buying BF3, but if this game turns out amazing, I wouldn't know what to say. I'll probably buy BF3 and rent MW3 or buy used copy or something.

It's extremely low quality in comparison to other games, yet those get pushed aside. That's because Call Of Duty evolved from you being a no name soldier in this big war around you to being this one man army super soldier protagonist who is somehow still a fucking no name because you don't give a shit about the people you're playing as.
That takes quite some creative genius to pull that off, really.
