Exactly. The second story's background was completely inane, but each of the characters actually exhibited personalities and traits, being humorous and giving us a reason to like them.
The CoD characters, on the other hand, spend the entire game shouting orders and enemy spotted or some tacticool drivel.
BC2's story was humorous , plus they make fun of MW2.

I will be mostly buying it so I have something to play with my friends who are bro gamers but I also kinda have high hopes for the story after beating black ops and seeing how well they pulled off that ending.

I really dont know why I hated blops and mw2 so much. I enjoyed 4 and 5 but I only played em both for maybe 30-50 hours. BLops just felt.... bad.

Herp derp. Soap and Price seem important at first - and then are ironed out for an American squad to finish the job. Delta Force, yes, but nonetheless two Americans with only codenames instead of actual given names (so far) somehow get involved in the Makarov chase (why are they helping two guys who killed Shepard? Is it that easily forgotten?) and end up killing Makarov themselves.
Why the fuck is Russia suddenly turning into an expy of Nazi Germany mixed with Terrorism? They attacked America for retribution - and now they're attacking EVERYONE. Germany, Czech, England. Is it because these nations are allied with the US or is Makarov's kidnapping of the Russian president literally allowing him to fucking control the entire government and army of Russia?
And finally, it actually doesn't sound like there's much to the campaign itself; at max, there's 10-13 levels.[/sp]

It's funny how far a little humor will go
I mean, for example you know how in BC2's multiplayer the American army will yell things like
"Yeah, got that motherfucker"
"We got a shooter somewhere!"
"Want summa this!"
"Uh yeah this is Bravo 2, we got this shit all wrapped up"
The fact it's actually stuff you'd say, or how the soldiers actually sound like regular people you'd see in daily life just makes it that little bit better.

The general consensus used to be that CoD was incredible, so there were the few people who would go around saying how much they hated it, just to be different
Now that we've seen MW2 and Black Ops suck, the general opinion is that CoD is shit. However, the people who were saying that it sucked so that they could have a different opinion now have the same opinion as almost everyone else, which is why you get people saying that it's going to be good. They're trying to be different.

MW2's campaign was the biggest disappointment of any game I have ever played.
I expected a lengthy campaign with diversity in the mission design like in MW1. Instead, I got a run and gun campaign that I beat in [b]FOUR HOURS[/b] on [b]VETERAN.[/b]

Those killstreaks man! Get 7 kills for a harrier, hide, get chopper gunner, rape, get nuke, end game. It's not as if anyone ever shoots down killstreaks either.
Not to mention the perks. Marathon, Lightweight and commando pro meant unlimited running, sped up, and with a knife that reached further than shotguns and made you invulnerable when you used it.
One man army & danger close meant unlimited extra strong noob tubes.
Fuck that game.
