Holy fuck! Now this is a huge leak. But seriously: generic storyline yet again. How about we actually play the opposition for at least once in the game?
I have't bought a cod game since cod4
I have played every CoD game since CoD1, and have purchased most of them (only didn't buy the PSP game and Big Red One).
Yeah, I am sure it got some bad reviews from hipster armchair game critics, but I am having trouble thinking of a single major publication that didn't have nice things to say about any of the CoD games. This is what I suspect will happen 1. "I'm not buying this game" 2. Buys it anyway at launch 3. Regret My 60$ are going somewhere else, like a creative and unique game.
Since its out on console, you could just as good rent it for free.
I won't be buying it after making the mistake of pre-ordering MW2 expecting it to be a good game but then it turned out to be fucking terrible. I didn't buy Black Ops because that was terrible as well.
I really like Call of Duty, but the entire Facepunch hates it. Makes me sad, it's not as bad as everyone says it is.
I really like Call of Duty, but the entire Facepunch hates it. Makes me sad, it's not as bad as everyone says it is.
But it does not stand up for its 60$ either.
I don't see the point in people announcing that they won't buy the game.
oo this will piss 69105 off, CSS is better than all cod games :regd09:
I really like Call of Duty, but the entire Facepunch hates it. Makes me sad, it's not as bad as everyone says it is.
Most hate Halo too, and that game doesn't even have yearly installments.

I mean multiple FPS's have gotten terrible scores around in the 6s or worse for the same things people criticize about CoD (unbalanced, short campaign, repetitive) It's only given near perfect scores because it's so hyped and so many of the critic's readers are fanboys and by giving the game an honest review it will just make them look bad.
I don't know what it is about Call of Duty but whenever I buy one I enjoy it for a while, get bored, and go "I'm not gonna touch the next one, they are just milking the series." Then I see info about the next one and I turn into "I might buy this, looks cool." Probably just because I want something fresh, new perks, new maps, (hopefully) new weapons, and maybe some actual balance. I already pre-ordered BF3 so I'm not sure if I will get both.
Hey look,, a CoD game that looks exactly like the other ones! Looks like it's time for me to not buy this game just like I haven't bought the last 3 games!
I really like Call of Duty, but the entire Facepunch hates it. Makes me sad, it's not as bad as everyone says it is.
It's not actually bad as much as it's just rehashed which is the real reason people give it shit all the time
I don't see the point in people announcing that they won't buy the game.
It's because its CoD.
lol lose ends in the older games stories? they even count as stories?
I liked the MW1 and MW2 singleplayer, will most likely get this one too
oo this will piss 69105 off, CSS is better than all cod games :regd09:
-snip
This game looks very original, doesn't seem generic and by the sounds of it, is probably the most balanced game, I've yet to play. Ok, maybe not. Whilst Call of Duty is fun, it gets boring after a while, sure, yearly 'updates' are cool, but they aren't needed, ok, maybe Bobby Kotick's overflowing wad needs the yearly 'updates', but that is another story. Whilst it looks nice from all the pictures on the OP, I probably won't be getting it, I will play it around my friends or such, but there is not a high chance of me forking out £40 for another Call of Duty game this year, there are alot more other games coming out at Christmas that I would rather spend money on, rather than a year-by-year updated franchise that is Call of Duty. But of course, if it more fun than the previous titles, I may consider getting it, but for the time being, I won't think about it too much.
Now the reviews are obviously just to attain to their audience. But at the same time I think it is a little bit disingenuous that the games just get good reviews because of that, and not because they genuinely have solid mechanics. I don't personally think I would give any CoD above an 8 (maybe Black Ops a 9, MAYBE) so I certainly don't think they are the epitome of video games, but for some casual online FPS deathmatch, it has solid shooting mechanics, good netcode, well balanced, and has just enough depth to get into as any level player but also play semi-competitively. On your second point, I don't really see much of a reason for them not to rehash. Look at it from their standpoint. They have been rehashing since Call of Duty 1 (only things added to the CoD-verse have been perks and killstreaks to be honest) and every new game that comes out has massively larger sales numbers than the previous. Modern Warfare 2 set an entertainment launch record, then Black Ops comes out a year later and absolutely destroys it on sales, setting a new record. When Unreal Tournament released its 6th game, or Quake its 4th, I didn't hear people complain about the need for innovation of complain about rehashing then. Why should CoD change? What should it change? [editline]13th May 2011[/editline]
But it does not stand up for its 60$ either.
Well yeah, I guess if you don't like it. When you are like me and get 200+ hours out of MW2 then another 200+ hours out of Black Ops, you don't really regret spending that extra $60. If the game is not for you, it's not for you, but stop making catch all statements like these, they don't really apply to every case.
Its not blind hate, when I first heard about it I though It might even be playable
so you say you thought the game would be unplayable when you first heard about it, sounds like blind hate to me
so you say you thought the game would be unplayable when you first heard about it, sounds like blind hate to me
No matter how they say they hate MW3, the game isn't out so it's always going to be blind hate.
wait a sec can the vehicles be piloted/driven?
Call of Duty. Setting piracy records since November 2009.
wait a sec can the vehicles be piloted/driven?
Yes, they can. Expect something similar to WaW's vehicles
