Makes ya think don't it, however if valve really did put those in...kraken must have been something, those are VERY atmospheric tracks, specialy track 10 (used in resident evil in the lab underneath the guard house) you definatly got the feeling kraken was dark, damp and leaking in alot of places

Guys, half of this music is not even valve's, Someone just compiled songs that sounded like half-life 2 songs. And i know who, so when your listening to this so called "alpha soundtrack" know that its fanmade.

The Half-Life 2 alpha and the Half-Life 2 beta are two different names for the Half-Life 2 leak, they are the same. The differences between the versions were modified after the leaking.

I liked the darker story, it fit better. Especially those hydra sounds, and the manhack arcade.

They were just placing these songs in the game to try and see what styles of music fit best and then compose their own music for the game.
PATH OF BOREALIS IS (PARTLY) IN HL2, UNDER SOMETHING SUITSONG, PROBABLY THIS:

Yeah, the song is actually called Triage at Dawn, which is a shortened version of Path of Borealis. Plays when you get out of Ravenholm and down the railway line to the rebel outpost, after dispatching the combine there.
The HL2 Alpha soundtrack is mostly fake, as it's just stuff ripped from other games or TV shows, but "Path of Borealis" is one of the few tracks that is genuine (Along with "Route to C17", possibly), and it is great.

Someone on a forum about the half life 2 beta, He just put the songs that sounded hl2ish and rared them up and posted them on the forum.

Right...ok, for those who arn't listening to the sane of mind here, this is NOT in anyway the alpha ost, atall...there are 3 tracks from it that are actualy from the alpha, and those are Docks (heard in a VERY old e3 video) track 13 (used in e3_city17_01 in the ruined street with barney) and track 4. the rest are from completey differnt things....the alpha ost was basicaly EXACTLY the same as it is now, with one or 2 SLIGHT differnces, path of the hyperboria (i prefer that name) is a remix by someone else of triage at dawn, good track in my opinion, there are 3 tracks from resident evil, the devtrack was an old track heard on nvidia driver installation discs (or ATI i'm not sure...)where airex reactor and start and reactor come from i have no idea :S consul top is from a VERY old tv show, which i cannot remember but i loved the theme as a kid and remember it. now in every leak if you look, it has the BETA ost, and there EXACTLY the same as retail, except for Hard Fought (there are three differnt verions ofit on the beta) and a VERY VERY VERY freaky track used in e3_phystown....it sounds like hundreads of pipes all being nocked on at once...also track 4 from this fake ost is in there to

HL2_song13, they didn't cut it out of the game, it's used in ravenholm or any other gloomy scene.
How do I download them? I want Path of Borealis.
