I would say the big fat demon guy from Dawn of War 2:Chaos Rising.I dont remember his name but I do remember that I still havent beaten the damn game because of him.
The Flamelurker in Demon's Souls, with a melee character, On NG+. Nearly made me stop playing.
It could kill half of your team in one hit. It also had like 2 or 3 hits per move.
I'm so glad someone mentioned Flamelurker on NG+. The rest of the bosses were pretty damn easy for me... playing melee thief, with backup bow, no magic.
Thought id add this on. The first time i vs'ed Red in Pokemon Soul Silver. Got my ass beat because i felt like i was the very best like noone ever was.
Id say traitor cyrys in Danw of war 2:chaos rising because of those fucking bombs that can one hit all of your squads
Cyrus isn't the traitor :ninja:
GODDAMNIT FATHERMOTHER IN ZENO CLASH  caps
Not a final boss but... Fucker nearly gave me carpal tunnel. There is no reason for this boss to be so frustrating but the designers thought it should be anyway.
This fucker was hard (like the only hard boss in the game though), unless you knew a trick to basically one-shot him. Also is it just me, or was Castlevania:SOTN really easy?
Psycho mantis, metal-gear solid 1. Just because I didn't know the controller trick, so I had to punch him to death, wich took forever and he still dodged most of the attacks. Always took about 30-40 mins.

You didn't even need those though because you could get him stuck using the bible special.
I find it hard to believe that nobody mentioned this guy from Ratchet and Clank 2. Beating it without the RYNO II was practically impossible.

TOASTY, THE GOD DAMNED SHEEP ATTACKS MORE THAN YOU!
Metal Gear Solid 1, Liquid Snake.
From the first game. Finally beat her a month back after digging out my N64 since 2001.
you kidding me? on the hardest setting, all i had to do was set him on fire with the flame thrower. was hilarious seeing him invisible and on fire while yelling.
I knifed him whenever he got up close to me.
The final battle in Freelancer, so many god damned hostiles and so few friendlies but if you learned how to use engine kill, it wasn't so tough. John Irenicus in Baldur's Gate 2 and Sarevok from the first one. The Chernobyl nuclear power plant in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl was downright impossible if you weren't prepared.
Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2. Holy fucking dick nipples that guy is fucking impossible.
Not a final boss, but the captain on the level "Sea of Okhotsk" If that fucker has ANY indication that you're there, he drops the flare and the ship goes boom.

Also is it just me, or was Castlevania:SOTN really easy?
A.) That's not a final boss, and B.) most people generally agree that SOTN is pretty easy once you know the drops, secrets, and boss patterns. EDIT: Anyway, I submit to you the final boss of each of the .hack games. Now, if you're overleveled, naturally they'd probably be easy. But compared to the rest of the normal dungeon bosses, each final boss in the .hack games are usually pretty big and love to unleash nasty attacks on your party - often enough their unavoidable specials, either dealing out tons of damage or giving you every bad status effect possible, and quite usually both. Motherfuckin' CUBIA stole the show for difficulty, though.

Jinpachi from tekken 5. RARWERFGFFDGHFHB Freeze, flame blast, freeze, flame blast
The 3 Anti guys from Paper Mario Bonetail from the second one There was also the Biolizard from Sonic Adventure 2 Battle when i was younger.
I thought the boss at the end of MGS3 was kinda hard. It took getting used to her patterns.
The Boss was easy shit. Until you had to shoot her in the head. :saddowns:
Dude that sucks, I remember I was literally on my last leg, two of my characters were down Lloyd was the only one left, I used a dragoon attack and then I beat him it was great.
You never get Lloyd in your party aside from the very end where you can not control him or Dart in that battle and it's entirely scripted, he then dies after that and then you can fight for real. But yes he was a pain in the ass, he took so long to kill. Yet even then I was sad I didn't get to fight all of his forms, you only get to fight 3-4 out of the 7 or so (because it skips some once you get to them, for some reason) I believe. Maybe you have to fight him a certain way to be able to fight all of his forms.
Carnage from Spiderman: Maximum Carnage.
Also, Defender X from FF10. If your party is shit that's a permanent fucking dead end unless you feel like grinding Malboros.
I don't think I ever beat the last level of Defender for the PS2. But that was long time ago.
