Well, in my opinion, it is clear that the ''Devil'' from megaman is the hardest ever. I hate them.
While not a final boss and not essentially hard, the first time I saw a Big Octo in Wind Waker I shit my pants.
Seriously, who didn't. There's no way to tell he's coming first time you see one, no reason to suspect it might exist save for cryptic hints from constantly unreliable fish creatures, no real idea of what the fuck to do first time around, and complete loss of your bodily functions due to a sudden wave of pants-shitting terror doesn't help either. Plus, the music. It's the best music ever. It makes not only you shit your pants, but your soul shit its pants as well. It instills you with an emotion I like to call "fear skullfucking you with a blunt instrument."
Overall, an incredible assault upon all 5 senses, and several you didn't know you had. You will be dragged kicking and screaming out of your comfort zone, as will anybody whose sense of smell functions correctly within a 500 metre radius. Good show, Nintendo, good show.
