I usually keep one hail mary AP shot.
You can still smack them at a good distance but only if they're tanks with high silhouettes or a larger hull/turret that would make the AP hit it instead of disappearing into the black hole of treads. You just have to make sure if they're facing directly at you or being perpendicular to you.
Seeing four-figured damage numbers always brings a smile to my face.

Alright, let's put it this way.
IS Series: Thin armor. Big guns. Great speed. Great turret armor.
[B]KV-1S[/B]: No armor. Huge (final) gun. Inaccurate gun. Speedy. A great training tank for the rest to come.
[B]IS[/B]: Decent armor. Huge guns. Inaccurate. Decent speed. Well rounded, trading armor for power.
[B]IS-3[/B]: Much better armor, hull is still bad at poor angles. Same gun with more penetration. A really enjoyable VIII heavy.
[B]IS-8[/B]: This will feel like a huge step back at first. Stock, it's an IS-3 with less armor. Period. As it gets upgraded, it gets faster, gets great pen/damage and is maneuverable. It's a super-medium, not a heavy. I didn't enjoy it and put it down.
[B]IS-7[/B]: Amazing front armor. Great gun. Poor X health. Really solid tank from what I hear.
KV/Alternate Series: Blocky. Heavy. Bulky. Big guns. Raw armor. Poor traverses.
[B]T-150[/B]: An up-armored KV with a 107. There's nothing really glaringly bad or good about the tank. Good damage, but poor armor design - I guess.
[B]KV-3[/B]: Still chunky at first, but once you get the treads and top engine - it can literally keep pace with an IS-7. Great guns. Good, trolly armor. Inaccurate. Enjoyable.
[B]KV-4[/B]: Fuck huge. Expensive. Poor stock. Heavy as shit. As it gets upgraded, it becomes a super-heavy Russian Tiger II knock off. Not terrible, but don't brawl in it due to weak sides and huge fuel tanks. (And piss-poor traverses.)
[B]IS-4[/B]: I don't want to comment since I haven't seen many since the tweaking. Thinner armor for more... I'm not sure. Gun has slightly more pen than IS-4 and it has 250 more HP. That's about it.

Just when I think I'm getting better at this game...
I mean, really, I'm average. XVM rates me at 1280. I win 48% of the time. (and I know that the 48% is becasue of me, not because of bad teams/tanks/day of the month/random acts of god.)
I logged on last week and was overjoyed to see that I had squeaked into the realm of 49%. For a brief moment a rainbow flashed across my screen and happy ponies danced around me.
And since Monday I've lost almost 60% of my games. :suicide:
I'm open to advice. Look me up, Zakhodit on NA server. Feel free to tell me what my problem is. I'm just trying to figure out why can't dig out of this rut.
