Pz. Korps at KURSK" by Didier Lodieu, the commander reporting on this particular action is Leutnant Freiherr Von Rosen. It's a shame English books are so hard to get around here unless you order online, but that's a little too expensive for me. I did manage to grab "La Fantastica esistenza di Adolf Hitler" in its French form (it's really well translated too) for 8$ in mint condition from a local flea market. It's a really interesting non-tank related book (only 2 mentions of armor, both T-34s :v:) if you want to see Hitler as something else than a glorified monster. I was on the DB and then all of a sudden they downgrade the Tiger to make room for the German E's and so I was stuck in Tier 7 and peasant grinded to Tiger and then agonizingly to the KT which has brought forth endless pain.

AP shells tend to ding on random stuff (especially a Maus) or get no damage penetrations. HE shells have 0 splash and don't do much damage when they hit. Sure, it's really accurate and it fires fast for an artillery but you only have 18 shells and half of them will do nearly no damage. I'd rather have a GW E. It's also really fucking slow until you get the last engine. Did I mention it's somehow 1/3rd bigger than the IS-7 for some reason? They said they rescaled it but it's still really fucking huge compared to it. But then again the IS-7 is the size of a Type 59 in this game...

So if we need tier 8 arties for CW, would I be better off starting an American grind for the T92, or rebuying my Hummel for the GWE? If it helps, I'd be doing this solely for the benefit of Team Facepunch, as it seems it's a necessary evil. I promise not to enjoy playing arty in pub matches whatsoever.

Pft, I don't know what you guys are talking about. It's okay to give in to SPGs. It's nice to be the one inflicting retardamount of damage on tanks instead of being on the receiving end. You can obviously tell by the last few pages I've been spending all day returning the favor.

The only fun part of playing arty is countering the other team, that's it.

Just played a low tier game where a scout killed a Marder, and revealed all of the enemy artillery and a good portion of their TDs for about two minutes. Keep in mind there were about five artillery pieces out there. Our arty decided not to shoot any of them.
