The few that were fitted performed perfectly.

I don't get this thing: How soviet 37mm auto cannon is a tier 5 gun (46 pen, 40 damage, 5 rounds clip, 2600 XP cost)? Also how T-44 second turret is tier 9 (120/100/100, traverse 48, 380 range, 7800 kg, 20400 XP)?

It's stupid to use it on the T-50-2 when you have the long 57mm available, but sometimes I roll my plain T-50 with the 37mm auto just because it annoys the fuck out of people. It also works better against artillery.

Generally, I imagine they didn't even want to get within throwing-distance of infantry - so running them over with hedgerow cutters is stupid. It would just knock them under the tracks and it'd be exactly like running them over anyways. (Or catch them, I guess. That may even be worse for the tank crew.) Now the mine-flails? That's another story. I could totally see some batshit tank crew trying to use it on entrenched/hiding infantry. Maybe what they should do to arty is add a consumable called "ear plugs" Just put them in the game, don't tell anyone what they do. Each time an arty shoots, his chat fades. After four shots it's gone. Also, after three shots, caps lock is toggled and he's stuck in all caps until the end of the match. Now if he has ear plugs, once he uses them this stops. But it only stops at the level of damage he had when he started useing them. If the chat was faded and he's stuck in caps lock, whelp, he is still there. plugs don't bring hearing back. (But a first aid kit will...) Wait wait, never mind. This as no affect on the game. Arty already ignores their team and yells at everyone for no good reason.
