There is a pretty big difference between the T-44's 90-100 mm of side turret armor, to the chaffee's 19mm rear armor, and 25mm side armor.

Yeah, it's armor is weak, but hey, it has 3000DPM with 303 penetration and great rate of fire, while also being moderately quick.
It's epitome of glass cannon.

I really didn't like it on the test server. The main problem I have with it is the hilariously low traverse (7 degrees), I have to turn every time I want to shoot something and it takes quite a while to aim.
Plus I'd have to spend 13k free XP since it's the most expensive T10 TD and I didn't plan ahead before selling the 704.
There's also the money, I have to grind 6 million for the T110E5 too.

If they won't completely remove artillery from the game, they should at least move it to a tank needing direct LOS to call it in. Could even keep it so that arty comes in on an angle to keep cover viable. Switching that role to a new branch of Command Tanks (or putting it on Scout tanks and changing their role up a bit) could work.
