You have to cross open ground into good defensive terrain where the entire enemy team is
Yes every tank is invalidated, especially those with no armor (AMX 50 120
Whenever anyone says AMX I assume ELC AMX, so yeah, it's good to clarify.
Aaaand point proven
ELC is even more useless for its lack of HP
Point is not proven
Hell, I thought you were talking about the ELC too.

It's a rocket ship though, easy to avoid arty with it.
His argument is that every tank sucks in assault, which makes me wonder why he bothered to mention AMX at all.

Are you retarded?
That's completely aside from the point. Refer to my original post if you still don't get why I can't refer to my T-54 as a T.

who fucking cares I already named the tank
I assumed Scout was talking about AMX 13 F3 AM... :v:
who fucking cares I already named the tank
Had you not, people would have been scratching their heads wondering which AMX exactly you were in. "Well if it was an AMX 38, why was he in a match with JagdPanthers?" "If he's in an AMX 50 100 or 120 why is he complaining about tier 4 arty? It's quite capable of dodging artillery" "He could be in an AMX artillery, but then why complain about other artillery?"
Next time clarify better, not saying the exact tank is almost as bad as people calling the Type 62 a T-62.
Stop the bitching both of you
ITT Scout rates people dumb rather than disagree when he disagrees with them

Oh hey Orkel

I'm not really bitching but okay :v:

I did this once, bringing shame upon my family. That terrible day must be remembered, for generations unborn to learn it's lesson.
I call the soviet t5 light tank t502 - tee five-hundred-two
come at me
So a clusterfuck happened.
An AMX 75 was shooting at me at spawn (playing JP E100), so I blew him up and turned blue (worth it). A friendly VK4502B and T30 started shooting at me because "free kill lol". A friendly Obj 212 started whiteknighting me "hes not guilty guys! the amx shot fiiiirst! guuuuuys" and shot at the VK4502B, taking him to 900 health. My platoon buddy (awesomecaek) killed the VK4502B. The T30 then finished me off, and awesomecaek kills him too, and he also turns blue. So the rest of the match consists of our team bitching about both us and the VK/T30/AMX, the Obj 212 whiteknighting me with constant "HES NOT GUILTY!!!!" comments and the T30 urging everyone to report us for team damage (reports which you remember don't work anymore) and the enemy team laughing their asses off.

Nope, I was one of last 3 people remaining, fighting to last shell in my batchatty drum.

we lost like 3:12
Don't worry about the British guns not firing fast enough. Besides the abundance of HE cannons (oh god, just remembered the centurion will be able to get a 165mm one) the anti tank weapons were all smaller caliber than other nations guns of similar performance.
The 2 pounder (40mm) was better than the 5cm L/60.
The 6 pounder (57mm) had better AT performance than the 75mm M3.
The 17 pounder (76.2mm) outperformed all other allied AT guns and in game terms, has better penetration than the short 88.
The 20 pounder (84mm) greatly outperformed the soviet 100mm the long 88 and the American 90mm.
Finally, the 32 pounder (94mm) had similar penetration to the german 10.5cm gun.
Considering that these guns were not mounted on tanks which in game terms will have ridiculous penetration for their tier (meaning low DPM in the long run) expect lots of Pew Pew.

Fun fact, the 20 pounder could penetrate some 300mm of armor at 500m firing APDS.
Who's up for an EU t10 plat?

That at 0° slope, looking at this site, the penetration at 60° sloped angle greatly drops down to 80mm (!!!).
[editline]25th August 2012[/editline]
But still, higher caliber tank guns perform better against thick sloped armor even though they have less penetration than smaller calibers (like 76-90mm) mostly because of crazy caliber, heavy AP shell weight which results in a greater force applied on armor which causes it to deform and spall.

So I get that brit guns are going to be fast firing, low alpha, high pen and accurate? Could result in an interesting gameplay.

Or they will do the same thing as they did with high tier med guns - buff alpha disregarding caliber.
Patton/E-50s 105mm deals the same 390dmg a pop the soviet 122mm deals.
Meanwhile KV-5s 107mm deals only 300dmg a pop, not even the 320 the T29s or King Tiger's 105mm does.
So i'm all happy and dandy trying to shoot people in this match when my team starts to get overrun, i start going to the rescue and people start complaining about how i'm an idiot for not being in the frontlines as the top tier.
Ignoring the bullshit, i proceed to fuck everyone in the ass, killing 6 people and being the last alive, getting 3300 or so experience on the 2x with out premium and doing the best match in my tiger 2.
Heres the replay, it's really satisfying:

this was originally meant to balanced it out at a lower tier, since being removed from tier 5 though it hasn't needed a buff anyway because it's still a good gun. Also a very important fact to consider is: nearly all the British AT guns are sub 100mm. meaning if they go off and give them high damage they are still constrained within reason by the damage ramp of those weapon calibers, And this is beside the point really because British guns are going to be Low Alpha, High DPM, High Pen and all the existing examples of British Guns currently in game support this trend.
I'm about 500,000 credits away from T29. Judging by my current luck and earnings it's going to be a nightmare to grind that much. I've been thinking about buying a 3-day premium, but then one day would go to waste since I'll be busy on Monday.
Not cool at all.
I love my T29 it always seems to make me money unless I do bad.

The 100mm at least deserves its historic penetration value to have a better advantage over the 122mm.
I just got back into this game, haven't played since beta. I'm going down the french spg line, and I'm not sure if I want to go down Russian heavy or medium, I remember the Russian mediums looking really fun in beta ( I had a tiger 2). ALSO, what's the best line to go down for tank destroyers?
