Just not so much. Angling them will be much more effective, for example E-100's lower hull when the tank as angled at 30 degrees will go from 218mm to ~240mm. E-75's lower front will be 20mm more effective even when fired straight on. etc
Won't effect tier 10 guns penning your LFPs particularly much but it'll make tier 8s and 9s slightly harder to get through (8s especially)
so how much more dingier will the e2 be?

If fired straight on, it should go from ~135mm effective to ~144mm. But that is only on perfect angle, ingame the situations are rarely so especially if you angle intentionally. Should be bouncier.

Considering the stock turret has 150mm rear armor it's easily plausible without any trickery

Soviet 107mm with 167mm penetration can penetrate it frontally on a good day, and it's at tier 6, soviets also having 175mm penetration 122mm at that tier.
There's several tier 7 viehicles with 200mm penetration.

If you don't want to be a serious arty player and want an arty for doing all the only fun stuff about arties (counterartying, TD mode, barrelblocking, AP sniping) which looks fucking glorious on top of all that, go for S-51.
You get it through grinding KV-2 which is barely grind at all, and it's fantastic.
Another very fun arty is the AMX 13 155 but you have to chew through lot of horrid french arty shit to get to it (AMX 13 105 which has worse gun than Hetzer and is just plain horrible)
