Please change gold ammo to, "APCR has extra penetration and less damage" and "HEAT has less penetration but deals extra damage", all buyable with extra credits.
So i've played a little bit of mechwarrior and
despite being an incredibly cool game, i've realised how much more i like tanks
<3
tracks > legs
and because i seriously missed the back and forth manuevers of world of tanks.
Then give all guns all 4 kinds of ammo and make the APCR and HEAT purchasable with credits (more expensive than ordinary ammo).
It would be fucking sweet to actually decide what to shoot with aside of HE or AP which is usually gun exclusive anyway.

That would be interesting if they removed the gold cost from gold rounds (and consumables) in favor of them being much more expensive than standard silver rounds (perhaps 3 to 5 times more).
Although, it would make armor even more useless than it already is as I suspect there would be widespread use of them.
Perhaps it would just be better if they nerfed gold rounds to the point where they aren't worth the cost anymore.

I really like these ideals, giving each ammo a purpose instead of one type being clearly superior than the rest would be cool and raise the skill level just that much higher.
10k credits for a single gold round is what I'm expecting :v:
Most tier 10 gold rounds cost ~10 gold and you can concert 1 gold to 400 credits.
So, if 1 tier 10 round did cost more than 8000 credits, buying gold rounds and selling them for credits would make more money than normal gold conversion (selling 8000 credit shell would net you 4000 (50%) of the money) which would make no sense. If the round was for less than 4000 credits, it would be more economic to convert gold to credits and and buy gold shells over credits, which again makes no sense.
This means that unless they change the price range of gold rounds or make them credit only, gold rounds will cost ~4-8 times the usual shell cost.

They could just reduce their selling price.

Making to gold ammo we have now obtainable through credits would be stupid because people on prem would still regularly buy it, while other couldn't.
Gold ammo should be sidegrades, not upgrades.
Then you can think about if they should be credit available, too.
WG says that they disapprove of XVM use because it "humiliates players" (and it should), but they will make visible the average win ratio of each team in the future.

I'll pass.

maybe if you're a mainly AP firing gun.

it has less pen?
"APCR has extra penetration and less damage" and "HEAT has less penetration but deals extra damage"
Talking to my friend about this idea, while reading different types of projectiles.
(Which by the way, the idea makes perfect sense. APCR fired lighter rounds. HEAT had trouble penetrating, but exactly didn't need to - at least all the way.)
The carrier shell is simply a hollow carrier equipped with a fuze which ejects the contents at a calculated time. They are often filled with propaganda leaflets (see external links), but can be filled with anything that meets the weight restrictions and is able to withstand the shock of firing. Famously, on Christmas Day 1899 during the siege of Ladysmith, the Boers fired into Ladysmith a carrier shell without fuze, which contained a Christmas pudding, two Union Flags and the message "compliments of the season". The shell is still kept in the museum at Ladysmith.
AFAIK neither of those are true. At least haven't been for a year now.

Oh boo fucking hoo. As soon as a fucking pubbie starts talking shit with their 5k battles and 520 efficiency they deserve to be fucking humiliated. "Oh but stats don't matter, its about the team!" Well shitty players equal shitty team, so yeah they do, cry me a river.

While I agree about APCR, I don't agree about HEAT. IRL HEAT rounds had way better pen than normal "steel bullet" AP rounds, that's why everybody switched to HEAT in 50s-60s because tank combat was "one hit - tank/crew dead"
They should keep HEAT as gold ammo and make APCR purchasable with normal silver.

I'm definitely seeing what you were saying ccino about the SU-85 being worse than the SU-85B. Without the 107 and even with the 85BM, it's still kind of meh. The D-5S 85BM is almost a tradeoff to the D-5S before it, aka more or less just as powerful overall. Kind of stupid actually, the view distance thing has to have been a mistake, having removed the OPness and not having removed the limiter to that.

Gameplay > Realism, in this case.

Actually if I remember correctly, while removing the 107mm, in the same patch, they nerfed the tank itself in ways, particularly decreasing traverse speed and and so.
I don't have a fucking clue why.
It's the worst PoS ever.

It's just...so painfully average. Especially with TD matchmaking, where your matchmaking tier = your tank's tier + 1, but with the maximum of 2 tiers up limiter still there. Just leads to boring gameplay.

TDs are ATM matchmaked the exact same way as mediums and Heavies, one tier above and one tier under.
It's not average when Stug is just plain better.
