As someone who plays light tanks to the extreme, let me tell you it isn't too much different for them. Artillery will prioritize you, and often will hit you while going 50+. Stop for so much as a second and you're getting a T92 round up your ass.

Thing is that for a light tank, that applies to pretty much all enemies.
Arty can fuck you up big time but so can everything else.
Personally, when playing T-50-2, I hate when I get a match with no arty whatsoever, unless it's like tier 7 match or campinovka.

Tier 2 artillery (namely t57, su-18) is pretty lulzy in that you're basically a convertible, powerful yet weak TD with some medium-range indirect fire support options

This is the exact reason i hate artillery, it literally is, easymode.
Artillery gets really fucking boring at higher tiers, that's why I only CB in my 212. I don't want to ruin some poor T95's day by shipping his commander a 203mm HE shell to the knee.
You'd be surprised just how many T92s still don't know how to avoid getting spotted with tracers, most of them move 1 feet forward or backwards then go "good enough".
