Churchills are a pretty fair tank to come across
They're usually all "oh I'll continuously destroy you but have the common courtesy to let a few shots through so you get a decent amount of credits anyway"

Also the tank is a pain in the ass when stock, I keep getting in tier 5 matches and I'm about as useful as a TD as my body would be of cover against enemy fire.
It's obviously one man is the driver, one man holds the gun and is holding on for dear life (sorta like a flag on a flagpole), one man drives a little cart that the other man pulls. The little cart has ammo in it.

There is no crew model thingy on the model site, but the armour model shows where two of the crew would be... floating in the fuckin air.

In real life they would sit on the sides of the tank or hold onto something on the back of the plate there, then get off to fire. Similar to a lot of American artillery.

As in, can you shoot the tip of a cannon and damage it?

so i was playing arty and i take a shot at some enemy off in the distance
my shot never reaches him and it says i teamkilled somebody, so i go to third person thinking some retard sat in front of me or something
turns out my shell landed about halfway between me and the target onto a teammate

Seriously though, the ally was probably sitting on a hill somewhere along the line of fire where you had no way of knowing it would hit them. Just bad luck.
You should check your overhead clearance to make sure your click-match-ruinner doesn't hit anybody.

I think he's asking about something else.
You can hit the other guy's gun with your shell in the whole length.
But the shells he shoots originate for god knows where. It seemingly depends.

No I mean their barrel has to be a bit down yours too or else their shot will just fly through
And I think the shot comes from the part of the turret/barrel that never actually collides with anything (which would allow you to aim at anything and hit it without shooting inside of it)

I am pretty sure that on some guns I hit the very muzzle brake and that's how the gamemodels3d hitboxes look like, but it might depend on the tank.
And considering the shell appearing point - didn't somebody a while back manage to hide behind a barn and shoot through it without destroying it, a while back?

When WWII started the French tanks were the best. They just lacked the doctrines to use them in a good way, and they didn't have radios in all tanks so they couldn't communicate with each other. Therefor French tanks fought alone while the german tanks were coordinated.
the french were true armored pioneers; they were the ones to design semi-automatic breeches, ventilation systems, and rangefinders that the germans all used. guderian commented highly on french armor when they invaded. i wonder what france could have come up with had they not been taken

French also had odd ideas about crew allotment. Like how the light tank commanders not only had to morse code/wave flags to other tanks and high command, he also had to yell commands to the driver, rotate the turret and load, aim and fire the gun. Or how the B1 driver had to handle the hull gun aswell as drive. Meanwhile german tanks were multi-crewed and the commanders could stay on top of the situation.
Also german bombers.
