I got a C in high school and Im going to tech school
AP classes were easy as hell when I took them in high school
Plus everybody knows an internet tank addiction is better than a stable future
AP classes? Easy? Ha. Good thing schooling and standards are so wildly different depending on where you got to school! And good thing colleges assume they're not different! Taking more than one AP class here is the equivalent of surrendering all of your time from the second school ends to the time you go to bed.
Just unlocked E-50 after playing it on the test server. Seemed about as cool as everyone says it was.
Driving it stock... Jesus Christ this thing is slower than my Tiger II. Even using the engine from the Panther II it is stupid slow and has a gun that is okay in the Panther II but is of questionable utility in T9 games.
Anyway, with the revelation that the tank is slow as shit with the normal engines, should I unlock the engine first? I noticed in the test server that I can unlock and mount the turret without the tracks, but after seeing how slow this thing is I'm not sure that's the best option anymore. Maybe I should save up the 50k and go for the engine, even if it means waiting even longer for a good turret and gun.

I'm fairly certain I went tracks > turret > 105 > massive fucking power gas turbine or some shit engine > stupidly long pea shooter. Did you already unlock the HL234? If so, use that and go the route I took.

Not even deserving of gold wow. They took something cool that tankers wrote on their tank, typed it in with some random font, gave the font an outline, and weathered it slightly on a tiny 1x1mm piece of the tank. /everyenscriptionin8.0
Only thing I'd ever get on my tank is the dice + terrible combo. Even then, probably not.
So what is the magic of the IS-8
they've been absorbing my 120mm shells to their 90 degree sides all day and I'm sick of it
So what is the magic of the IS-8

On the side, they have extremely sloped 60mm armor under 30mm thick falseboard.
Never hit the side above tracks. Or too low on the tracks - there's another extremely sloped layer.
Basically, there's only thin reliably penetrable strip of un-angled armor on the sides, about the center quarter of it.
I would recommend firing at side of the very back - the engine deck cancels out the lower slope. Shoot at the rear idler or whatever is it called for un-angled armor penetration and detrack at once, plus engine damage possibility.
I don't see how 60mm sloped at any angle is going to stop a 120mm shell
I mean I have 200mm minimum penetration.
If you hit at more than 75 degree angle it's an automatic ding regardless of the shell. I think it's naturally rather close to that angle, and you have to add up the +30mm penetration drop from the falseboard (which is itself sloped in the other way, so it's normalization makes the shot go MORE angled against the armor itself)
Man I wish my tanks had random bits of 80 degree sloped armor inside them
[editline]10th September 2012[/editline]
I mean why the fuck does that even count as armor jesus christ
Bloody hell, Im only getting 200-400xp per match with the KV-1S.
I want this 122mm D-2-5T already.

You gotta remember IS-8 has the worst frontal armor of tier 9 (well, maybe comparable to AMX 50 120). And dinging with the side armor is sorta random.
I have a question: is there any netbook that runs WoT on low details and acceptable framerate?
Asking because I may have no access to my PC at college.

I haven't tested it but I presume that everything up to date that has dedicated graphics card (not integrated Intel chip) should be able to.
It's kinda expensive stuff, tho, usually marketed as "Ultrabooks"
[editline]10th September 2012[/editline]
Depending on your ability to deal with hauling stuff and your budget, would probably look for something smaller but still classified as notebook with some Nvidia GPU at decent price.

Well, mine certainly doesn't. Goes at about 8 fps, meaning I'm at something of a standstill for now.
I see then. Well, I guess that's enough information for now. Right now I'm not sure about anything so I shouldn't bother myself with that.

I dont think that any netbooks does only proper laptops afaik.
Why would you get a netbook instead of a laptop anyways?
It's really not that much of a weight difference.

I thought dimensions matter more than weight. Then again, having a normal notebook wouldn't probably hurt much.
[editline]10th September 2012[/editline]
And I don't have much knowledge about portable computing, I only used my brother's notebook for some time.

Aha, I c. I think that you can get a laptop that runs it on highest for around 1600€ or whatever currency you use over there.

I live in Poland, so I'm rather aiming at no more than 400€.
Certainly make sure it the thing has multicore CPU (8.0 uses, albeit, not much, but each of my 4 virtual cores).
As long as the GPU is with dedicated VRAM (not shared), it should be able to handle it just nicely.

So that means I should avoid Intel GMA at all costs, right?
Finding a netbook that runs WoT on low settings
lol
You're better off trying to play Crysis on your IBM
It'd probably work better too

I honestly don't know. It might work, but I would look if somebody got it working before buying it.

I can't really correspond because I am myself running it on sandy bridge i5 notebook with GeFo. 460M, but it's in Wine and for example all Post Processing and Extra Effects (smoke on tank hit) completely marder the framerate.
I just play with best models, textures, terrain detail, draw distance and LOD, and rest on low or off, and get usually stable 30-50fps which is all I am asking for.
Had a pretty cool game in my KV-1S where a T-34 followed me and we worked together.
I shoot and distract, while he went around and fucked them up.
Until I got killed by arty >:(
I am trying KV-1S in the beta and god how OP can it even fucking BE
Since fucking when does it have -8 depression?
One of the worst problems I had with it was -5 depression. -8 is top notch.
