Not really, you're encased in a metal shell that is more or less an inch thick. Sound waves would just bounce off you would just feel the concussion and the low 'thump' of the shot being fired.

Naw, I fight those battles rather thoroughly. It's when it's at 5-10% that I might as well give up if I hate the map/tank. Anything above 30% and I usually give it my all and play as I normally would. 95% and I might try something unusual, risky or dumb.
Honestly, I use XVM to judge players over matches. Someone who isn't in a clan known for pub-stomping and is 1800+ efficiency; they know their shit. Some kiddo with >1000 battles and a KV-5 with 27% win rate, he's absolutely worthless.

i used to play the game with xvm and pretty much used its win chances to see if i was going to win or lose and would look at all the red teams and realize how bad my team was, and then i took a break from the game and got a new computer.
came back and didnt bother to install xvm and i realized i stopped noticing how many times i won/lost, then i decided to install it because why not and now i only use it to see who the complete retards are
i dont look at the win chances or the team as a whole anymore because it just makes me start the match with a pessimistic view and that can't be doing any good, but when i see somebody being stupid i like to know they actually are stupid through xvm
I still find it completely impossible to get over how you get 0.5x XP on a loss. It might depend on how you look at it, but the glass half full tactic doesn't work after 3000 times. THAT is what constantly reminds me about losing, about how these shithead retards around me affect my progress, and how true XVM is (aka why I keep it around, I like that).
I kinda wish the x2 XP for victories worked by taking the highest you earned that day, it'd encourage people to keep playing at any rate.

Well, it used TF2's level design, characters, layout, weapons, gamemodes and theme, and BF: Heroes' maps and artstyle, so really it's both.

I haven't taken the win % seriously for a long time. I just use it to check people's efficiency and stuff.

I played one whole year of this game at university on a 3g dongle getting 500-600 ping while getting 20 fps on an old crappy laptop.
