JT88 tears anything tier 8 and below a new asshole.
Can't hit agree harder. Fought one of these things for the first time the other day in my T-43. Goddamn 88mm machinegun I couldn't pen frontally.
Just took part in a Battle of the Dicerolls
4502B hits my E-100's sideskirts, it dings upwards and penetrates my turret floor
I retaliate by lobbing a 150 HE shell at his turret front, whose blast then goes downwards and hits the engine, setting it on fire
Then the battle ended when an IS-8 killed him while he tried to run away.
Patrol duty is more of a scout medal than the scout medal is.
All scout means is that you were the first to meet the main enemy force.
Bleh, really hard to fight so many tier 9s and 10s in my tier 8.
Think it's time to quit for the night. Matchmaking is going to arse.
Guess who just grinded 18k xp stock and unlocked a gun before checking the weight limits

I know that feel.
I researched the T32's second turret thinking the paper pain was over after looking at the numbers and thinking "looks like it'll fit, but it's gonna be tight". It was actually 50 kg over the god damn limit.
The one thing that I have learned to exploit the shit of in my chaffee about T34's. They have abysmal view range and a abysmal camo rating. My chaffee has a view range greater than 455m, while a T34 only has a view range of 360m. With full camo, I have a hundred meter window where I can engage and destroy them without them ever once getting a sight of what is shooting them.
Platoons of T34's aren't that great in that regard, and need to have an accompanying tank when pairing up. Otherwise this happens.
Victory!
Battle: Prokhorovka October-08-12 10:02:32 PM
Vehicle: M24 Chaffee
Experience received: 2,890 (x2 for the first victory each day)
Credits received: 23,212
Hah, in my T28 prot. Someone spotted a scout vk headed toward our base on another lane, so I turned my gun and waited for him...had a nice clear shot into his side, tracked him and broke his engine I guess...He tried limping forward then I finished him off with a second shot.
He proceeds to call me a base camper and say the shot was impossible etc. Not really base camping when my max speed is 18km/h and I was pedal to the metal when i spotted him, that's just how far I got from the other side of the base lol.
Told him to check his replay, I had nice clear shot at his side, blam.

This isn't a joke btw.
I had a friend (who played clan wars at first with us before quitting) who had a farm of 4 or 5 scout tanks, all that were available at the time, and his average lifespan in them was like 1 minute. But in that 1 minute he'd get more XP and money than most tier 5s do if they only do okay.
Someone was posting on the world of tanks forums a while back about how the A-20 isn't as useless as people make it out to be. He managed to achieve a 55% win ratio with the thing without resorting to platoons.
Is the Tiger P as good at steel walling as it looks? Or is it another false childhood fantasy? :(
It's pretty boring. If you're into FUCKOFF armor tanks that just trundle along the entire match, occasionally die/get stun locked by artillery, and only kill what is revealed to it, then it'll be perfect for you. But that kind of predator in WoT quickly becomes the hunted against anyone in a well camouflaged TD or any fast tank for that matter.
I don't know why but I've never had as much difficulty fighting Tiger Ps as I've had fighting regular Tigers. Tiger P turrets are soft as hell too.

This too. The square shape of the Tiger helps it more than most people realize, I think.

I always seem to hit that nearly horizontal lip on Tigers, but never even encounter the 200mm of armor on the Tiger P. Does anyone know exactly which part on the front armor has 200mm?

I'm sure there's somebody here that knows exactly, since it's the same layout as the Ferdinand, but it is definitely dodgy. There may even be a plate thrown in there that's like, ~60% the thickness of the rest, because things penetrate it more than they should. All in all IMO, the Tiger I wins, even in the realm of mobility.
porsche can't into tanks

It's always been easier to fight Tigers than Tiger Ps for me.
I mean if I remember correctly, I've penetrated the Tigers frontal armour with the T-34/85s top gun.
Also fucking no one knows how to use the Panzer III/IV properly. They all use it as frontline head-on assault tanks.

Well, yeah. The Tiger only has 100mm of frontal armor, but Tigers have better turret armor because they have a much smaller cheese wheel on top if they get caught brawling.
that feel when kill a KV-5 solo in my Hellcat because of the hilarious R2D2
I should put together a compilation of tier 8 tanks I've fought solo and won in the Hellcat..
Im having hillariously good luck today. Matchmaker wants me back.
So I'm using the 122 on the KV-1 because it's a death machine.
Some retarded T-150 was telling me it was bad and I'm dumb for not using the 85.
I asked him why do you say the 122 is bad? it's fucking god tier
his answer? "It has low penetration"
Later in that round:

fuckin' told
Anyone on the SEA server want to platoon with a mediocre player with a T-34/85 and an IS?
Ugh, I think I'm taking all the bad matches. Constantly tier 10 games (with like 6+ tier 10s) in my tier 8 tanks and lots of games with 3+ arty on each team.
hahah oh man I'm literally playing the KV-2
oneshotting everything with this 122
this won't be a hard 17k to the KV-1s at all.. money grind though
The Easy Eight is seriously the most fun tank I have ever played, aside from the H35.

Having had both the E2 and the E8 I didn't see the point of the E8, but that is just like my opinion man

T-34/85 is also very very fun.
It's basically my main money maker I'd say.

penetrated a T14 from above for a hella funny 500 damage shot
then an SU-26 tracked me and I sorta went into a newborn rage mode not unlike Goliaths in Borderlands 2
And I one shotted him, then an M8A1 unlucky enough to be spotted by me. As if that wasn't amazing enough, from the hill on Mines, to where Arty usually sits in the river on the northwest part of the map, I nailed a Grille.
why did I ever hate you, KV-1. Why.
T-34/85 is also very very fun.

I'm not a huge fan of the 85. I bought it back and it's pretty solid, I just don't have the same fun with it as I do the E8. I love the different play styles you can instantly switch between with the E8. I can run circles around heavies or camp in a bush and shoot my 76mm machinegun at everything without being seen.
Having had both the E2 and the E8 I didn't see the point of the E8, but that is just like my opinion man
The jumbo has got some seriously bad ass armor, I just prefer the speed because all the rest of my tanks are slow as piss. I'll have to get it eventually though.
I know I'm late on this but... Oh my god, the Chaffee second turret looks ridiculous.

It's an acquired taste.
