I didn't really enjoy the PC version. I got it in the THQ pack on Steam and tried it out. Just... it runs worse than GTAIV for me sometimes (GTAIV only stutters for me when I exit a building) but Saints Row 2 lags every now and then. Also... I understand it's not suppose to be realistic, but seriously... wow.
The game stops tracking your stats.
Oh, you mean for the leaderboard thingy? That's acceptable.
But I still would like someone to answer my question about remodding Gentlemen Of The Row.
Played SRII on PC, the game was pretty fun, didn't hold me for long though.
But the community is awful, Xbox fanboys everywhere, sure, "XBOKCS IZ BATTEAR THAN UARE PC BECUZ IZ NSEXXXXXXXXTGEN LOL FFS".
God, that was awful.
Game is stupidly good fun, if you haven't played it, think of what you always wanted GTA freeroam to be like and that's what this game is.

Nevermind, I found out. Idolninja had simply removed the hoods from the "rewards" list of their respective missions, but left the markers saying that there was supposed to be a hood reward. using Gibbed's modding tools and the extracted "common_vpp_pc" file for comparison, I put the hoods back into their list. I'll create a custom "patch_vpp_pc" file with the rest of the Gentlemen Of The Row files intact. Well, except for the special AR50 rifle. I changed the alt fire back to grenade launcher instead of the RPG Rocket IdolNinja modified it to (it was bugged, and the rockets couldn't really lock on like I think they were supposed to. So I just used the "common" file for reference and changed it back to regular grenades.).
Saints Row 2 was my most played 360 game ever. I have put about 600 hours in the co-op.
Once more news about the next Saints Row game comes out, I'll ask a moderator to lock this thread and I'll make a new one, since the OP is my alt.

Glad you were able to get those hood unlocks sorted. Stuff like that is the reason why I include the modified source folder with every release so people can build their own custom stuff to suit their taste.
The AR50 grenade launcher has been reinstated in the upcoming v1.9, and the new fireworks version was changed over to replace the plain old boring ar50 xmac. The firework version is now an end game store unlock. This was mainly done to work with the new ported DLC missions in 1.9.
Gentlemen of the Row v1.9 is almost finished. I'm cleaning up some stuff and just about ready to do one final test run. Should be out soon.
This game is great, Imo, it was better than GTA 4, more fun, less serious.
It's like, the true sequel for GTA:SA, I hope they're working on a new one.

Hey, you got the changelog for the mod? Or some teaser or some sort?

Thanks for having the source folder out for people like me to modify! I really can't wait for 1.9.
I keep feeling bad about myself because I've never played the first SR, since it was never ported to the PC and I didn't know the franchise even existed until I got SR2 for PC. I mean, I've read enough about it to get most of the callbacks to it in SR2, but sometimes it doesn't feel right that I've only played the sequel.

Hey IdolNinja, I had a quick question for you. Will that Facepunch logo stay in the final version? It's pretty awesome. Also, I wanted to tell you how much fun I have with your mod. It adds so much more to the game. I can't wait for version 1.9!
EDIT: I just saw you mention the ported DLC missions. Did you actually manage to port the DLCs? If so, I am extremely impressed with your skill.
This is The character I mostly play as:

All the bitches get wet at the sight of him.
I wish people didn't just think of this game as a goofy GTA clone. It's so much more than that.
The PC version of SR2 is broken for me.
It runs in fast forward all the time except for when I'm indoor areas. Apparently there was some issue with Windows 7 or something that never got fixed. Lame.
Hell, if they make SR3 PC, make it like an ACTUAL PC game, not a shitty port.
That's what I was hoping they do. Hopefully, they develop it for PC this time around. Also, if the next Gentlemen of the Row has managed to include the DLC, that will really revitalize the game for me and some friends. We've been playing GotR all this time, but we haven't played the missions because we know what'll happen.
We haven't ported over all the DLC yet. The meshes and textures are in a much different format which we're still trying to figure out, so no new clothes or vehicles. What we have done so far though is port the first two missions from DLC 2 Corporate Warfare which I think are probably the most fun ones out of all the DLC.
There are a few things still missing from the ported missions that will probably get fixed in time. For example, I had to replace Eric Gryphon with another npc since we can't port his mesh/texture over. Also, the spoken dialogue during the mission is missing. Issues like these will all get worked out over time, but I thought it was cool enough to still include in its (mostly) working state. We do plan to port the remaining 4 dlc missions in future releases.
Pretty much everything you've seen me post here will be in the upcoming v1.9 including the Facepunch logo. There is a fuck ton of new texture work in v1.9 including new menus, logos, unlock screens, homies, vehicles, map, etc. In addition, there are
* 2 DLC missions
* 2 brand new original custom missions by me (possibly a 3rd one if I can get something working)
* 50 new logos
* 6 new full body vehicle textures
* 2 new spray tags
* New startup splash screen
* New Main Menu screen
* New loading screens
* 4 new homies
* 3 new cribs
* 10 new paint colors
* 7 new outfits
* 45 new npc morphs cheats
* Stop time cheat
* new hair colors
* new makeup colors
* new heli garage at the prison (finally)
* New radio station stuff (not new music, but a new commercial only channel, and also GenX and EZZZY available post game)
* and a tool belt clothing item
Plus, the usual assortment of bugfixes and other misc stuff like a (slightly) increased falling height before ragdolling and some vehicle handling tweaks.
There might be some other surprises too if I can get them working. :)

What makes it more sad is that Volition made the amazing freespace games. I guess they forgot how to make PC games in the intervening years.

You managed to port over stuff from the DLC? I'm suitably impressed. And I had no idea you made Saints Row 2 power tools, that is literally the only way I can play the game thanks to the fucking fast forward bug.

Yeah I used it but the problem is that it fixes the speed outdoors but the speed in indoor locations is normal for me so it makes the game run in slow mo when I'm inside.

I don't think Volition Inc. did the porting for SR2. I heard some other company did, and due to some shit that happened the company that ported the game got boned.
I think at the time they weren't comfortable with porting the game to PC themselves, but after Red Faction: Guerrilla I'm sure they are porting their games to PC from now on.

Someone else on the official forums had that exact same issue. It was fixed by reinstalling SR2 on Steam, then reinstalling powertools.
It was CD Projekt Black that ported SR2. This is a different group from CD Projekt Red who made the Witcher. Also, Volition did not port Red Faction Guerilla to PC. They hired Reactor Zero to do it. From what their community manager posted in the official forums, they were happy with their work on the RFG port and will likely use them again for SR3.

Sadly RFG had the exact same speed bug that SR2 has. However it was all in all a more polished game, though not by much.
What it is better Ultor exposed, Or Corporate warfare? I want to get one Ultor exposed, looks the best tho.

Ultor Exposed sucks, go with Corporate Warfare.
Corporate Warfare is the one that leaves a sequel-hook for Saint's Row 3, right?
