I heard a while ago that vanilla SR2 has a bug where it won't process the unlock if you hit Escape to continue instead of Enter. Could be that, but I never confirmed it.
I can tell you with absolute certainty that unlocks do process correctly in coop for both parties in GotR (if you hit the A button or Enter.)
Also, if it was a mission and your partner was further behind in the story for that gang, then the mission unlock will not count for him and will not process. He would have to be the one to host in that case.

Well, We both started the story at the same time and ran through it. But once we started doing some of the activities. It bugged out on us.

I was curious and tested it out. It's impossible to Escape out out of the unlock, so whoever posted that theory was incorrect.
One other possibility is that maybe you were on different versions of the GotR mod? If one person had a version with an unlock tied to something else it could cause all sorts of weirdness. The game is extremely sensitive to stuff like that. (The open and standard versions of v1.8 are compatible though since the differences are simply pricing and availability which is all client side.)
My best guess is that your issue was probably just a random glitch. Good ol' buggy typical SR2 glitch most likely. I personally do a new manual save after completing something, even in vanilla, just in case I need to rollback.

One of the guys had some success with tats, but he was saying it was kind of wonky. I personally never tried them.

Ok thanks. I was just shocked at the price is all. Picking it up today. Also does the game have free-roam like GTAIV? like I know it has co-op, but I'm talking 12 player open world goodness?

Nope. There is no free roam mode that supports more players. 2 player coop is what you're going to be playing online. The other multiplayer modes like deathmatch that support more people are pretty broken in the pc release. Certain people can't play with other certain people, even when both are fully dmz'd with no firewall. It boots you out of the lobby when they join and vice versa. It's totally bizarre and we could never figure out why even after sniffing packets. For example, user A and C disconnect each other when they join, but A and B are ok together and B and C are ok together too. It's the weirdest damn thing.
Still no computer working or SR2 PC. Once I get a new PC or a PS3, I am selling my 360 version of SR2(fuck you MS for increasing the cost of XBL gold).
Hell, if Steamworks came out for both consoles, PSN Steam would be free, XBL Steam would cost 70 dollars a year(XBL would increase again), or won't exist because MS wants GFWL instead.
Firest thing I'm going to do when I get the PC version is to download the GotR mod.

Really love how the Sulaco one is turning out. The red actually shows up as black in game, so the ship is going to be a silhouette, the yellow is colorable, and white is simply white. Should look pretty cool.
Also, it's looking like everyone is going to be getting a present on Christmas day. It's not going to be the final GotR 1.9, but rather a beta that should have everything except the final two custom missions that I'm still working on. I'll give you guys a heads up when it's uploaded on my site.

Well, I got 2 problems.
1. I can't play it right now(comp is too weak, will lag, but nothing a new computer can't fix)
2. Lack of money(well, my money situation, its shit at best, fubar at worst).
Also, crash into a gas station(those things that dispense gas to people's cars, or shoot em). With a small/medium car/golf cart, it flies.
80s, they had the best movies(Terminator 2 is the exception, it was released in '91 right?), best music, 2000s/2010s right now, we have the best games(debatable), and some of the worst people in music(do I have to say it, hint, annoying kid that sounds like a girl, another disney reject).
Plus, jump off a skyscraper, or the tallest building in the world and live. GTA doesn't allow that.
