i see this thread bumped, then I notice saints row 2 is on sale today
[editline]11:15AM[/editline]
Buying it since it's on sale for so cheap, probably going to regret it after seeing how bad it runs.
I heard there was going to be a Saints Row game for 3DS so if the 3DS isn't crazy expensive I'll probably get it just for that.
What's so bad about it on PC?
What's so bad about it on PC?
I'll find out after I download this 11gb fucker from slow ass steam servers.
What's so bad about it on PC?
running the game on 30fps with lowest settings.
Your PC can eat crysis at very high for breakfast but on saints row 2 very low its like hnnnggg
what if my pc can eat arma 2 at very high for breakfast

You should be able to run it on high, but I'm not sure if you'll get smooth FPS constantly.

What about TF2 or L4D2 on high settings, or Fallout 3 on Medium settings? Will I be able to play it on medium with smooth fps?

my old pc could play fallout 3 on high settings and it ran saints row 2 like shit.
Nvidia gforce 8800GT
Intel Dual core E8200

None of those really require a very powerful PC.
if you have good computer THEN you should be able to play it fine but on lowest settings and by then it looks like san andreas with some bells and whistles added and ragdoll.
i made big smoke in sr2

Lets say this requirements:
AMD Turion X2 Mobile(2.00 GHz), forgot what it was, but its dual core
3GB RAM
ATI Radeon 3100(256MB dedicated VRAM)
Windows 7
Is that good enough to play with smooth fps

no
Hahaha I remember SR2! Me and my friend found this one old guy at a shop, he's always there, and named him Jenkins. We would shoot over his head and say he was having a 'Nam flashback, and he would start firing at us as we ran. Eventually, the cops come, and he blows the shit outta them.Whenever he dies, we defib him. Nostalgia.
Fuck. Well, there goes any chances to play mods in SR2, until I get a supercomputer or they make SR3 and the port is actually good.

That's as far as I can get, crashes after it.
A+ game.
I love this game. It's certainly one of my favorites. The flying system is excellent, but the driving system kinda sucks. That, coupled with the optimization, makes it less than perfect.
Found out that there is a modding community for Saints Row 2 today. I'm now reinstalling Saints Row 2 for the Gentlemen of the Row super mod pack I found.

It's a mod pack that adds a bunch of cool stuff to SR2 like new cars, shotguns that can launch people into the sky and various bug fixes and tweaks. There's some other cool stuff on that forum as well.
EDIT: Here's a trailer for it.

Is there an evil cars type thing in GTA 4 or the episodes?
SR2 ran seemingly fine for me. I had it on med-high with my Q8300 and 9600GT and never got below 20fps, which I'm fine with.
I think it's a great alternative to GTA IV. GTA IV is great, but it lacks the cartooniness that I loved about San Andreas.

Ironically, the Elysian Fields are barren of any type of ground at all!
Fuckin' loved this game. So fun, and the customization was really great. Except the accents, oh dear Lord. The white guy accent sounded like Yahtzee Crosshaw combined with some upstanding British prick.
I always noticed that some types of jewelry (like medallions and such) were never available to buy for some reason. anyone know why?

I noticed this too, although sometimes the medallion worked, the pedants didn't

you were probably wearing a piece of clothing that interfered with what you were trying to buy. Some shirts make watches unwearable, medallions can only be worn on certain chains, etc.

what I'm talking about is how when I select a medallion or such, I get a text box going "preview unavailable". I never had that for watches, even if I had clothes on that obscured them. but I never knew that you had to wear a chain to wear a medallion. maybe that was what was wrong...

Default Male 2
I loved running around in a diving suit smashing people with street signs.
