Yes it's shitty port, that's why I ordered it for PS3 today.
But you can still play and enjoy it, just force yourself to play for a hour, no matter how shitty it seems, and you will get into it and will want to play more, I promise.

It's laggy, I can run Fallout 3(cousins account when I go over there on about medium) so, yeah.

Lower the dynamic light settings.
I'm running it with mostly all high settings on a 1920x1080 monitor with a 9600GT, and I have never seen a smoother 20fps.
It really only gets rough when it gets around 10fps

Im running it with on a 1680x1050 monitor with a HD 5770 and it lags like a motherfucker on low.
I love how you can't achieve 1680 1050 without additional tweaking.
i cant complain about my performance at all :smug:
My friends PC runs it perfect.

Did you even read the OP and how to fix the performance? I guess not.

That is amazing. I'd like to see a mod that adds a ton of new decals for clothes

oh how coincidental...

well luckily for you such a mod is under development
How is it possible that I'm the only one who can play this maxed out and lag-free on a 4870? :sigh:
Fast hard drives and a lot of RAM are the key. Really, the gpu and cpu aren't as important. You do still need around a c2d 3.0Ghz and a 4870 for a maxed experience, but the RAM/hdd are what matters the most just to brute force performance against the terrible streaming the game does.
Quick question, are there console commands in the PC Port?
Quick question, are there console commands in the PC Port?
The console was ripped out, but we're actually working on building our own. Currently we can do an include and load our own lua scripts on game start. It's only a matter of time before we have something fully functional in-game. :)

I was wondering, I've been playing SR2 for awhile now and two player co-op is cool but I'd like more, is it possible with the console to make it so we could have a 4 player co-op game or any other amount higher than 2?

A few people have attempted to do so then just kind of... disappeared. It's definitely something I would love to see happen.

Facepunch SR2 server would be amazing.

Fallout 3 isn't that demanding at all really. Sure. SR2 is pretty unoptimised, but it is playable if you have a fairly good PC.
Hey Idolninja, would it be possible to edit the boat shoes to have laces so they look like low top converse?
Hey Idolninja, would it be possible to edit the boat shoes to have laces so they look like low top converse?
I guess... but that would just look weird as hell for Mr Wong to be wearing them. We really need to figure out how to duplicate items first and then modify the duplicate so it doesn't break stuff already in game. It's something that all of us are currently looking at.

Well cant you just use the version that he isn't wearing? There's two versions of the boat shoes, one looks like

Then the solid ones.
Well cant you just use the version that he isn't wearing?
Good point. I suppose we could just edit the other variant. To be honest though, putting laces on shoes isn't exactly a high priority. We still have major texture issues to work out, like trying to get new pegs to load instead of replacing existing ones. So, once again, something like that is really better put off until we can actually get new items working in game.
All of our current work and pics displayed are all just tests to iron out the bugs with the tools. For example, all those logos you see above have to be redone now due to a bug with lossy compression in the last build of pegtool (now corrected in the current build as of last night.) The bottom line is that all of this stuff is very exciting, but it's all in an extremely alpha state.
Has anyone actually tried to replace any of the existing clothing textures?

Yes. Xvha was successful in his tests with replacing clothing textures:

What is it we're meant to be looking at here?

In response to simkas' query regarding if anyone has tried working with clothing textures:
"Just to report a success, the latest version of the tools correctly repack the clothing textures I'm playing with when using A8R8G8B8. :) Thanks for the fixes!"
The picture itself is related to a scaling issue they were discussing. I'm not sure what he changed on it.
