The thing is most people, even when they know they like the game, they'll just pirate it, it sucks when your hard work gets no compensation when it should.

It's still best to try it out for yourself. Maybe your preferences are different from the mainstream (which is sometimes the case for me with game reviewers). Maybe it will be only good temporarily.

But that's like paying 8$ to watch an action movie in the theater and when it gets to the exposition you're like "Where's the tits and explosions? What's this talking bullshit?!" If you ask for a refund halfway after watching the movie the people working at the cinema will laugh in your face.
And they'd have good reason to do so.
