I currently do not have that trust.
My plan
Scatter around, Lithuanians, get a citizenship in any new country, but vary it. That way, once we get in, it'll look a lot less suspicious.
You can keep working in Lith though.

I'm ok with this. Don't get too involved in the new countries as we're still going to try to get into Korea.

Also, don't all apply for citizenship at once. A handful of people applying is a whole lot less suspicious than a dozen or more. Maybe we could stagger it a bit.

That's why I said to scatter around. Else it'll indeed look really suspicious.

True.
Haha, damn. I need 6 exp for level 7. :v:
Shame I used all the gifts and food. Anyway, I'll hit level 7 tommorow. Should I move to one of those new countries and work in there for some time and then move to korea? Or should I just work in Lithuania, obtain money and still till those people will finally decide to let us in and get a citizenship.
Trying to abandon Korea so soon?
So some bad opening moves were made, that doesn't mean everything's ruined. I think the best thing we can do is, after we've given them some time, get some Korean officials into a position where we can communicate to them that we bave a bistory of sincerely helping Korea (show them the eRepublik thread) and that we have a list of people who are oyal to our, no Korea's ca=ause (show them this thread) so they can just accept them and reject the other people not affiliated with us without worrying about a PTO.
Some agreements might need to be made if they still resist. I would imagine something like new migrants would not be allowed into politics for a short time, but even if it did come to that it would be a minor handicap compared not being a citizen at all.
And if they ask for gold, just shut up and pay it. What I think is the biggest reason this whole debacle is happening is because we were hesitant to donate 10 Gold to the government organization.
That raises flags as if we we're actually committed to helping Korea out, paying such a small sum is nothing compared to how much we get in Referrer gold.
Besides...
If you've read the newsletter the admins published, it says that existing members can only go to the country if they are a RL native. I'm assuming that as proof you'd have to demonstrate you can type the language fluently.
We did give them 10 gold and they still wouldn't let any of us in.
[editline]15th April 2012[/editline]
I don't want to abandon Korea but if they persist with this behavior it's a possibilty. I don't say we should do it but we have to consider it as a plan-B.
So then what happens if they flat-out refuse to let us in for eons? Do we have a last-resort fallback plan?
So then what happens if they flat-out refuse to let us in for eons? Do we have a last-resort fallback plan?
If we all fully agree that it won't happen then we will have to find another country. That's currently not the case though so there's no reason for panic.
Level 7!

The problem with that is again, trust. They distrust anyone, and I got a feeling that after throwing him his dosh he wil simply make a run for it, not knowing we're this organized. And yes, it is a small sum, but it did basically go like this:
Me: "Hi we want in because of blablabla, I can provide a list of names for you so you can minimize risks"
He: "If you want to give me a list, money please"
So is it any wonder I didn't immeadeadly pay up? I mean, it was way too early to judge if I could trust them, and after all, they were paying me for a favour I was going to do them.

We force our way in. It is our last resort, but if we have to I don't have a problem with it.
Makes you wonder how revealing this thread would affect talks. If what FPSK did in erep was positive for the country (I'm assuming it was) then it might even be a deciding factor.

What I think will happen is that they'll read this ar that thread with their paranoia-tinted glasses and go completely apeshit.
The best thing to do now regarding them and this thread is to see if we can really trust them to take that well.
no one should apply for korea citizenship aside for a few people, who will work their way into congress, these people would help the rest of us to get citizenship

we could make a dummy thread/ manifesto and lead them to that

It'd be much faster for the people who started in Korea to get involved in the government. Just remember my stance on us getting into the government, as long as you also have some form of support from the native Koreans* (besides the uppity Congress and President) then I'm perfectly fine. But if you got in simply because we zerg rushed the voting booths, while there is nothing I can do about it, I don't condone it.
*Native simply meaning not from Facepunch.
[editline]15th April 2012[/editline]
This also means at this point in the game we do not want to start our own party. That'll send up red flags everywhere and their paranoia meters will probably burst.
It might work if they:
1. Don't know how to internet (Please don't tell them how to internet)
1.1 Don't know how to adress bar (Please don't tell them how to adress bar)
2. Are not wearing their paranoia glasses.
Then we could lead them to a single post with the rest of FP removed, and hope that they'll believe us. But that'd be too much stupidity on their parts to make it reliable.

Me neither, can anyone explain what's going on?
I'm pretty sure if we need to stagger the citizenship we can just use the player list, say the first 7 or so apply.

But you were the head diplomat who got the messages asking for money. If you didn't oversee the transaction, who handed over the money?
I for one, may try my hand at ePakistan. Perhaps we could recreate the ancient sand empire of Dio in the days of ye olde erepublik?
