What are they gonna do with all those money? :v: It feels like they are not needing any kickstarter stuff. They could just sell the game straight away I mean.
With all the extra money they could spend it on more voice actors and other stuff to improve the game.
Donated $500 I can't wait!
<3
I wish I had some money to pledge to this.
Holy shit, they're already above their goal and still have 30 days left, if they keep this up they'll be swimming in cash.
It looks like the pledges have slowed down since they reached it's goal.
Holy shit, they're already above their goal and still have 30 days left, if they keep this up they'll be swimming in cash.
The pledge rate always slows down between the beginning and the end. Still great that they were able to fund it so quickly.
Stretch goals added;
1.1 million, Base Goal – Achieved! Base game includes three races, five classes, and five companions. We have ideas for these, but we want to hear your opinions on what you'd like to see. Stay tuned to Kickstarter, our website, and our forums to join in on the conversation. 1.4 million, New Playable Race, Class, and Companion! Expands your options for character creation and adds a companion of the new class. 1.6 million, a Mac Version of Project Eternity and The Story Grows! We've listened and we’ll make a Mac version of the game at this tier. We're also going to add a new major storyline along with new quests, locations, NPCs, and unique loot (special histories everyone?). 1.8 million, New Playable Race, Class, and Companion! The options grow for your main character and the roster of your motley crew expands with the addition of a new companion from the selected class. 2.0 million, Player House! Get your own house in the game that you can customize, store equipment in, and where your companions hang out, or, as the elves say, "chillax". 2.2 million, a new Region, a new Faction and another new Companion! And, dare we say it... ? LINUX! Great news, everyone! For the Tarball Knights of Gzippia out there, we'll be adding Linux support! Also, the world of Project Eternity grows in a major way with the inclusion of a whole new faction and the territory it holds. This adds new NPCs, quests, magic items, and hours of gameplay. And yes, you got it, another companion. 2.4 million and beyond! Coming Soon!
Hope people continue to pledge just as much even though they reached their goal, I definitely want to see make it to that 2.2 mill.
I've literally just heard of this, and I thought that I was just tired when I saw that it has 109% of its goal and a month left to go, god damn this was funded quickly
$140 down, may upgrade to $500. Maybe.
do they have any actually in game footage or art ? or is it just a idea atm?
Should have stretch goals all the way up to 10+ million, because those measly 2.2 millions are going to get wrecked.
10 million is a bit overkill.
10 million is a but overkill.
30 days to go, made 1.2 million in 3 days. It will probably keep the same increase rate, at the same time that a lot already have pledged, it becomes more well known which makes up for it. Last few days are a big jump too. I'm still shocked by Planetary Annihilation, at first people thought it was barely going to reach half of the base goal (so barely 450k), ended up reaching 2.3 millions. Unless it does the opposite, everyone pledges the first few days then the pledges stop because everyone that wanted to pledge already have pledged.
The initial pledges will be high obviously as it's a well known studio which teased its announcement beforehand, so a lot of people interested in the game were ready when the Kickstarter launched. The pledges will most likely slow down in the next few days until the last stretch, I don't think it's possible for the pledges to continue at this rate. [editline]16th September 2012[/editline] Even the Ouya only reached 8 million, superfine reached 3.3, 10 million would make this the biggest Kickstarter ever in the games category. Who knows though?
Why cant they do a Linux version as well if they got enough to make a mac version? :( Ignoreme, I read again.
TBH, they deserve the extra money after Bethesda dicked them over with the Metacritic score thing.

Coming up on new race, companion, and class.
superfine reached 3.3
DOUBLEfine >:( anyways this will probably give doublefine a run for it's money for highest funded video game, but I really don't see it breaching $5 million, let alone 10 lol. Gonna be interesting to see what happens regardless.
Fucking auto correct, sorry :v:
This thing is going to slow down a TON if we don't get some more information. We need world details/game mechanics info/How about a STretch Goal Graphic. Come on Obsidian.
The only thing I don't like about it is that its going to be isometric. I'd rather have a KOTOR or DA:O style.
The stretch goals aren't as cool as Plantary Annihilations were.
New update and video with some more info on the game.

Guess I was wrong to doubt the power of crowd-funding for a major project like this. Well, diversity can only bring new things to the industry. Been playing Baldur's Gate and Fallout (and their sequals eventually) and enjoying them, so I'll be looking into this. I would pledge some money if I could but I honestly can't.
The only thing I don't like about it is that its going to be isometric. That is the most annoying part of games where I cannot twist the camera around to see whats hiding in the corners. Of course, that might be a part of the game to not be able to see everything.
