Few retail bought games can be activated on steam, bioshock 2 is not one of them.
I'm really angry right now. Bought the game today at my local GameStop. At home I inserted the DVD, wasn't readable. Tried it about 50 times, went to my brothers PC and tried it out there. Voila, it worked! I copied the whole data on the DVD to my external drive. Back at my PC, I installed it. When it finished I happily pressed the play button. Bam, error. Damn disc didn't read fast enough for fucking SecuRom. I tried it again and again. Wouldn't work. When I inspected the DVD, I noticed billions of mini scratches, all over it. It was a new game, why the fuck would there be so many damn scratches on it?
While raging for a while I came up with an idea: Maybe I could activate the game on Steam, so I wouldn't have to use the DVD anymore. I started up Steam, praying that it would work. I typed in the serial but what does Steam tell me? That the DAMN serial is incorrect. I checked EVERYTHING, let another person type it...
Okay, lets sum it up: The disc has billions of scratches on it, I need to copy the data from the disc on an external drive to install it from there, SecuRom is bitching about my disc so it won't start the game and my serial is broken. Great.
I'm going to give the game back tomorrow, maybe I'll get another copy for it. But is it even worth it?
Just go and ask for another disk
When the little sister gets stolen from you in the intro, please tell me I wasn't the only one who started laughing like a maniac, that shit was hilarious.
Anyone noticed the multiplayer is basically running on the Bioshock 1 engine/foundation?
It's visually poorer and has few of the improvements the sequel has
According to wiki Bioshock 2 is running on modified ue2.5
Remember how they whined that there was no networking code and that's the reason for no dedi servers and no lan? Well ue3 has both :D
Is this worth buying?
Is this worth buying?
For 50$? No
It's not worth the $50 if your taste in gaming is equal to that of an infant, but otherwise, yes.
I'm about to spend $80 on this so it better be worth it.

Durr my taste is different, I must be an infant.
i just got to the pauper place
so far i like it, but i get the feeling it's gonna get really repetitive
Wow this game is disappointing. I'm really not following the story at all.
how far you into it
Downloadin' At 1.3 mb/s
Am I the only one having problems getting multiplayer to work? It crashes every time I try to start it.
What I wish is ability to choose console style weapon switch. After playing so much fpses with 2-3 weapons at max, I am tired of reaching for number 6 or 7 and most of the time missing.

I can play, but after a round it crashes in the next round.

Can't remember. I was just wandering around. I've been playing for about 4 hours.
I bought it retail. It didn't even ask for the CD key. Yes there is one. Huh.
The game is pretty awesome though.
Uhh it should when you sign into LIVE
I signed into live and it didn't ask me for the key either. I had the manual ready and everything.

That's really strange.
Outstanding game so far. Just got off a train, Sinclair stayed inside(what a badass).
I am in love with the story. I want to know more about Delta by the end of the game.
Also, the Opening was awesome, [sp]That new years party thing WAS real, not an illusion! I loved the looks on the human's faces as Delta walked by. It must have been a regular thing for him to be wandering around with Elanour.[/sp]
can't believe they didn't let us preload :argh:
i think it asks for your cd key when you play multiplayer for the first time
i think it asks for your cd key when you play multiplayer for the first time
It asked for me when I was logging into gfwl in sp.
Enjoying the multiplayer but the only thing i strongly dislike is the graphics for the multiplayer.
People at work today kept talking about the game and the ending and shit and I was kind of wondering how they beat it three hours after it came out.
Nevertheless, I still had to jam my hands over my ears and go LA LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU to stop the spoilers from being heard.
Why the fuck is my mic in multiplayer always on. Is there any way to turn it off in game but still have it on for something like Ventrilo
I'm at the place where [sp] There's a crazy guy with a bunch of engineered things. Have to shut off all the panels to get to the main panel.[/sp]
This game is so far awesome.

I bet they just looked the ending up or something. There were people who got it early, so they could have watched that. Besides, there's multiple endings.
