I'm somewhat confused about the good/good ending.. [sp]So yeah, she takes your adam, but why exactly do you die? It can't be related to the bit regarding if her heart stops beating you go into coma/die whatever? Did the explosion fuck you up that much? Did the original big daddies get grafted to the suits so he would've never been able to live on the surface so the best way was to kill him herself and remember him that way.[/sp] Think I'm obviously missing something here. Anyone shed some light? :v:

Yeah I mean you were weak because her heart was stopped temporarily but shouldn't you have slowly gotten better from that from being close to her while she was alive? And obviously the explosives fucked you up, but it seems dumb having a game mechanic were you would just infinitely respawn from shit like that but have it kill you forever in a cutscene.

the big daddy one is cute
I'll just leave this here. Saving yourself gives the sad ending, rather than the evil ending.
But saving yourself is letting her harvest your adam. I chose to sacrifice, that gave me the sad ending. Eleanor even says "but you chose to die, rather that to have me follow you" in the sad ending.

So, I've been reading all the reviews and I'm really unsure about buying this game. I enjoyed the first game thoroughly, mostly for it's atmosphere and narrative (like everyone else). But what bothers me the most is how "familiar" and unoriginal or "safe" the game seems to come across as. I've always been worried the game would give me a feeling of deja vu and critics and users alike seem to say the same thing. So my question is if you truly believe this game is a worthy successor and is worth my time and worth buying, or will I feel like I'm just playing more of an expansion pack more than anything? No spoilers please.
I really enjoyed the game. I did find it familiar, but that's a good thing, Rapture is an excellent setting. The gameplay has been overall improved and while the story isn't as good, it's still excellent. Buy it. Some things have changed, splicers are more mutated, rapture is more dilapidated and leaky and the guns feel better.
I love being a big daddy. You feel kick ass at times but vulnverable (looking at you alpha daddies) at others.
Finished it, fucking AWESOME.

I was fairly bored whilst playing, nothing really stood out apart from two scenes, one that lasted for less than 5minutes near the end of the game ( [sp] the little sister part and how they actually see the world, was quite interesting [/sp] and the other being the [sp] flooding [/sp] ). If you really want to play it, wait for a price drop atleast. I'm not taking multiplayer into account as they should've focused on the singleplayer instead. Did I play Bioshock 1 for the MP? Nope. I wanted a fucking story. It's not a shit game but It's not that great either. Maybe bioshock should've been a game where there was no sequel as the 2nd has disappointed me. It was probably hard to top the first so just make underwater city shooter #2
I think they managed to break past underwater city shooter 2, at least in the latter half.
Well, I took the plunge and bought it. It's installing now, I guess I'll have an opinion later this evening.
My brother and I noticed these two things while discussing Bioshock 2: in bioshock 1, you play as a regular guy fighting big daddies. in bioshock 2, you play as a big daddy fighting big sisters. see the pattern? if there was a bioshock 3, you should play as a big sister. in bioshock 1, you can earn the achievement Brass Balls. in bioshock 2, you can earn the achievement big brass balls. if we follow the pattern in the first paragraph, what is the achievement that can be earned by a big sister?
giant brass ovaries.
I would have guessed brass boobs.
It would be cool to play as big sister, but they would need to redo the gameplay alot because they are fast and agile, not like humans or daddies.
A Bioshock 3 would be kind of iffy. The only thing I could think of is Eleanor stopping Splicers from getting out of Rapture.

What FPS will I get with this setup? AMD Phenom™ II X4 945 Quad-Core CPU 4 GB DDR2-800 PC6400 NVIDIA GeForce 9500GT - 512MB Vista Home Premium 32 bit
Just finished it. I got the good ending. I adopted all the little sisters. It was a fantastic game! Best game I have bought in awhile.
Just completed it. [sp]Holy damn that was good, playing a little sister, collecting parts for Elanor to use, then the ending was just wow, was also quite sad, but holy mother of balls that was good. Time to play a second time, and aim for the bad ending now. :D[/sp] [editline]08:38AM[/editline] Also, are there any "Spawn" mods so that I can spawn big daddys, or Alphas and such? Cause I'd love to mess about, creating huge battles and uploading em to youtube and shizzle.
Just got the game and I allready love it. I am wondering how I can open the GFWL menu though? What button is it? I can't find it in the controls list.

Game's pretty good so far. Played online with my girl mostly and we were addicted to it last night. The online mode is great fun when you understand the inner workings of it.
Is the god damn lag fixed yet?
Are there only good and bad endings? Or are there semi-good and semi-bad endings too?
I've been playing through it, and I've gotta say, I'm not very impressed. You're supposed to be one of the hulking badasses from Bioshock 1, but everything is the same. You don't stomp around, you move at the same speed, your massive weapons are no better than the normal guns, and you die just as easily. Bioshock 1 was enjoyable because you felt vulnerable and your weapons felt powerful. Now it's the other way around. The PC controls are also very sketchy - you can tell the mouse sensitivity was intended for a controller. Hacking is much improved though.
Just beat the game. I'm a bit mixed. I'm glad I got all the trophies on my first playthrough (I also played it on hard my first time) because I'm not exactly sure I could stand another playthrough. It just doesn't have the spark of the first. It's a good, enjoyable game, but it's just missing the "umph" of the first. I do like some of the changes they made, namely the hacking method. But for the most part, the story was bleh, and even at the end was pretty uninteresting. I'm kind of surprised they didn't come up with anything else. I certainly hope they don't take us back to Rapture for Bioshock 3. Seriously, they need to go outside of it now. Depending on the ending you got, it's just screaming for a sequel.
