I'm not buying this for two reasons
A.) The xbox beta was an exact copy of cod 4 and I've bought cod 4 enough times already.
B.) They think pirates are thieves.

Don't buy it then, but judging the multiplayer on the XBOX DEMO isn't a good idea, because they've already said MP on pc will be different.
Articles incoming, opening post updated, the ball is rolling.
While I have hopes for this, I'd really like to see a follow up with the signed petitions, say, a week after Crysis 2 is officially released to see who actually followed through and bought it even after pirating it.

They'd better bring out a demo for it.
Demo is coming out March 1st (http://kotaku.com/#!5761995/crysis-demo-2-finally-comes-to-pc).
I think more people would sign if you didn't have to fill in so much shit.
I'm wondering what to do:
- for signing this petition and pre-order limited edition spending more money (45$ in Poland),
- for signing this petition and buy the game after release, which might be cheaper,
- for not signing the petition and wait for my friend to download a pirated version.
You're a funny person.
All right, the funny person pre-ordered Crysis 2. Hopefully I will not regret doing this.

All you need is name and email, all that other stuff is optional, I know it looks scary.

Pirates arent thieves because....?
Pirates arent thieves because....?
Because theft involves the loss of something, and piracy is merely taking a copy.
Pirates arent thieves because....?
If you count piracy as theft then you should also count lending anything to anybody as theft as well.
Wow @ last 2 comments, I hope that was sarcasm.
i really hope people, the news, articles and every other person reporting on this can get their facts straight about how this does not involve piracy at the least
its an internal leak, a pirate couldn't do that. they'd buy crysis 2 when it came out and put a copy of it online usually with a crack of some sort

Here is how I think of it man, Crysis 2 was pirated... once. One time. One person, possibly an employee of Crytek, uploaded the game online, aka pirated the title. You can't blame all of Crytek, and you can't blame everyone who is downloading. However, one thing we can easily be sure of is how Crytek and EA Games feel in this situation, especially when you consider what happened with the original Crysis.
This petition is simply a way to let the industry know that we gamers support developers who build quality PC games for our platform.

Wellp, you're an idiot.
A person is guilty of theft, if he dishonestly appropriates property belonging to another with the intention of permanently depriving the other of it.
Piracy is copyright infringement, not theft.
I'm sick of the "we don't release this game for pc because of the piracy"
So I approve this :v:

Frankly, I'll buy the game if it is any good (i.e. it gets good reviews) - not just because I feel sowwy for Crytek/EA.
innovative? are you serious? Crysis is a generic shooter, the only innovative thing are the graphics which don't matter much and the suit
other than those 2 things, it's got nothing more amazing than any other shooter out there, oh wow aliens and korean how original
Not very many FPSs where you can take a variety of approaches to any given situation and have various vantage points.

Well, if you pirate something, someone loses something they MIGHT have gotten at some point. If you pirate a game, nobody actually loses anything. If you pirate a game you were otherwise, 100% surely, going to buy, the developer PRACTICALLY loses the amount of money the game costs. Or, you know, not, if you would have bought it second-hand.
If you steal something, someone loses something they had, and possibly needed.
