Gears of War Megathread V1: I'm coughing up blood that ain't even mine! - Games

This game is so good. The graphics are simply stunning at times. I've also had a few legit laugh out loud moments. You WILL enjoy this game. Only downside so far, is I ran out of Gold so I can't play online matchmaking :(

Shotguns probably won't be a problem really. Catch somebody jumping over a barrier or just running, you'll most likely down them before they reach you. Tbh, you only died by shotguns in gears 2 if you tried to shoot them with the lancer/something else when they were in your face. Never across the map or anything. School and then gears. Ugh, boring school day... I'm also worried. Some people've been saying they got RROD after putting gears in their console.. I have the elite, but I'm still worried about it. I could barely afford gears, much less a new console.

Just got back from the shop. Got the Savage thingymebob and a voucher for €32 off my next purchase. I've only started but I love how [sp]the beginning is a reference to Gears one.[/sp]

My dad has finished GOW 1 and 2 on the hardest difficulty, again with me on co-op, he dominated matchmaking when we had Gold Membership and we finished horde mode on like 5 maps. Now he's bugging me to get Gears 3. He's more excited for it than me!

I played through Gears 1 and 2 with my little brother, so I'll pick up Gears 3 today(IF I CAN FIND IT, hopefully it's not another Dead Island, where I have to hunt everywhere because each store only ordered 7 copies)

I just finished the campaign on normal and all I have to say is my god this game looks awesome at night. Also, fuck gunkers.

Just picked up Gears 3. Got an extra code for Commando Dom though.

Still not too sure if i want to buy this for the heck of it, seeing i've never really played Gears of War.

I was thinking about getting Gears of War 3, but I haven't played Gears 2. If I jump right into Gears 3 without having played the second one, would I have missed out on some important story, or is it pretty self explanatory?

I never played GoW1 but I played GoW2 and I decided to pre order this on Saturday (A last minute pre order I know) So I'm going to go pick this up after school. Me and my friend want to beat campaign together tho, so I have to wait later today for him to get it. Also, to refresh my memory on the story, can someone tell me if I got right? This is the weapon that humans killed other humans with :(

Games pretty fun, Gears just as I remember it. Good comedy, good action, and lots of shit blowin up! Only thing I don't like is I think they need to patch it a bit for optimization. I've been experiencing some slight fps drops every now and again. Doesn't happen during cutscenes though so that's good.
