Gears of War Megathread V1: I'm coughing up blood that ain't even mine! - Games

I'm afraid to play gears 3. People have been saying it broke their xbox, but they also said it only happened with older xboxes due to the new disc format. My xbox is the elite , the black one if that matters, got in in 2009.. Do you think it will crash it? I could barely afford gears, much less a new xbox...

I have one of the older Xboxes, but I really don't think that's true. Epic wouldn't make a disk that crashes Xboxes beyond repair, that would just be stupid.

Maybe it wasn't intentional, but it sure as hell is happening to people. I'm just worried that my xbox qualifies as one of the older ones, though most cases were with 2007 xboxes.

Therefore Halo 3 causes red rings, right? I think it's probably a case of bad luck with most of them, unless they have like, launch Xboxes. There would be a serious shitstorm if your Xbox gets bricked from buying a new game for it.

I have yet to play Gears 3 on it but I have no worries. Just install the game and you'll be fine.

So yeah just played through the first two chapters. Game seems pretty gg so far.

Installing on my harddrive now. Almost done already, but it's making quite a loud noise. Any idea why?

Beast mode is beast. Everything has a purpose in it. EXCEPT THE WILD TICKER. Hit a survivor 5 times with it. Wave 1, on casual. This thing blows. Can't win w/ it. Ugh

If yes glad to see you're playing okay makes me way less bothered about busting mine! :D

How many gigs does it take to install a game? Like two or something?

I just installed my game to my harddrive and it works pretty well. Install it first. 2 straight hours of playing beast mode and I have come to the conclusions of my favorite characters for beast mode. Tier 1- Savage Locust This thing is basically what you want to use until you unlock tier 2. You get the retro lancer, and you can usually kill them all in 1 life. Tier 2- Kantus. Healing teammates from any distance? Yes please. The ink grenade is also really useful due to the enemy not moving when you throw it. Tier 3- Savage Corsper/Boomer. Savage corsper is pretty balanced. Healing with it is fast and doesn't really take a lot of time away. It's attack is powerful but not accurate. Boomer, is really good if you can aim. Down heros, or kill regular soliders in 1 hit Tier 4- Armored Kantus/Digger Boomer/Berserker. Mix of all 3. Armored Kantus comes out as my favorite, but digger boomer close behind. Berserker is there for sheer power, and you need power to win. My ALL time favorite is Armored Kantus. Shit, this thing is deadly. With two gorgon smgs, you down a hero in seconds, and then you can roll into 'em. You do lots of damage to turrets, and you can jump over barricades so most traps aren't a problem. ALSO, IT TAKES LIKE 15 MINUTES TO INSTALL THE GAME. NOT THAT LONG AND REDUCES THE RISK.

I couldn't remember how to install games, so I just started playing, and I'm doing fine. My Xbox was getting loud when I first booted up the game, but now it's playing it just like any other one.

So I got this a few hours ago, played it for about half an hour and then turned it off. Am I getting old or something? Wtf :(

I only stopped to go to work. Made it to the second Act with my girlfriend. We glitched two levels. One the drawbridge wall thing wouldn't drop. Then she went to pull a lever just as I went into a cutscene so she got stuck permanently. We had to let [sp]the spider queen[/sp] kill her just so she could move, she still couldn't look in any direction.
