Feral tickers are cute :3
Feral tickers are cute :3
One of the bastards in horde ate my one shot and ran into a group of boomers. I never killed them in campaign though.
[sp]What were the sires? Why did the Queen look like a human? Where did the Locust originally come from? Back in Gears 1, the devs said that the Brumak is evolved from the modern-day Gorilla, which kind of implies the Locust have human origins of somesort. Why did the Locust have such animosity against humanity and why did they consider the surface as their rightful place, despite the fact that Adam Fenix says they lived underground, and once forced to the surface, tried to burrow underground again? How did Adam Fenix contact the Locust years before E-Day, and why didn't he warn anybody? What was on that disk he gave Baird?[/sp] There were a lot of things that went un-answered.
[sp]The locust had to surface because the immultion was pushing them out of their caves. If you listened to the cutscenes it said the immultion was actually a parasite that took over their cells.[/sp] [editline]22nd September 2011[/editline] Also if you go to campaign it says "Standard, Arcade, Coming Soon"
My copy of the game just arrived :D Have to do some stuff first tho, couple hours till i get to play it!

Instead, THAT ONE SCIENTIST FAILED. KILL. EVERYONE[/sp]
I bet in a few months we'll see a book which explains all this shit. And it'll be written by none other than Karen Traviss.
It's called The Slab. Releasing some time next year.
[sp]I feel kind of bad for the locust. They were just chilling underground minding their own business, when suddenly the Queen commands them to go fight a war and they all start dying because of the Imulsion.[/sp]
[sp]The locust had to surface because the immultion was pushing them out of their caves. If you listened to the cutscenes it said the immultion was actually a parasite that took over their cells.[/sp]
I know, that still doesn't explain [sp]why they attacked randomly. Why didn't they contact humanity and be like 'Hey guys there's this stuff called Imulsion and it's fucking our entire race up." or something, rather than waging this really pointless and devastating war?[/sp] [editline]22nd September 2011[/editline]
[sp]About Adam Fenix not warning anybody. He explained that he had MANY ideas, he assumed that he could find a solution before the locust attacked[/sp]
I know, but didn't it occur to him to [sp]mention to someone what he made contact with an entirely different species for years that may become hostile at some point? Even if he doesn't think it's gonna be an issue, it still seems like the type of thing you would tell someone about.[/sp]
They should have wrapped it up in the core game. Not explaining anything in order to release DLC somewhere down the road, and milk people for cash, to complete an experience that should've already been completed is ridiculous.
Welcome to the modern day market strategy. Don't like it? Don't invest in the products.
Welcome to the modern day market strategy. Don't like it? Don't invest in the products.
Except people don't really do this that often. Sure, games set themselves up for sequels, but they usually answer most/all of the questions on the last game of the core series rather than setting it up for prequels/DLC, especially considering they said they'd wrap up the series with this game. They wrapped up jack shit.
Adam Fenix comes if i buy the Limited Edition Controller only? If yes is there a region restriction for the code? A relative might buy it for me on Mexico, i am in Brazil.
Also I was kind of pissed off about [sp]The Queen and Carmine. They both were characters that could have easily had a lot of interesting dialogue/cutscenes, but got absolutely no development and ended up becoming boring, two-dimensional characters. The Queen appeared to be pretty cool and mysterious in Gears 2 and then just suddenly became this screaming bitch on her giant bug in the second one who was a completely generic villain. I was expecting someone to comment on Carmine's brothers, or have him say something, but to be honest if his name wasn't Carmine you never would have been able to tell he was the third Carmine brother. They didn't even touch on it at all, it was bizarre.[/sp]
Well if that was the solution there wouldn't be a gears of war game...
That's my point. [sp]Due to their explanation of why the locust attacked, all of the Gears of War games no longer make any sense. It's all founded on some un-explained hatred for humanity. They tried to explain why the Locust were attacking in Gears 3 and it ended up making less sense than before.[/sp]

When you play as Cole in the beginning he says something along the lines of "That was for Anthony and Benjamin". But it was just while playing not in a cutscene or anything.
He does say something about that. When you play as Cole in the beginning he says something along the lines of "That was for Anthony and Benjamin". But it was just while playing not in a cutscene or anything.
Use spoiler tag bud. People may get angry.
Use spoiler tag bud. People may get angry.
How is that even remotely a spoiler?
Use spoiler tag bud. People may get angry.
I'm not spoiler tagging that you get to play as a different character for < 1/10 of the game, and happens at the very beginning and reveals pretty much nothing about the story.
He does say something about that. When you play as Cole in the beginning he says something along the lines of "That was for Anthony and Benjamin". But it was just while playing not in a cutscene or anything.
Ah. So he has some generic battle lines. My point still stands though.
How is that even remotely a spoiler?
Dialog. Just saying, some people might take that as a spoiler.
Dialog. Just saying, some people might take that as a spoiler.
It's something he yells in the middle of battle. People already know Carmine is the brother of the other two Carmines, so that's like saying I should spoiler tag "At one point in the Campaign Cole goes 'I'm the Cole Train Baby whooo!'"
It's something he yells in the middle of battle. Show some respect for the people who don't want to see anything about until they play it.
I agree, but it is still dialog. Show some respect for the people who don't want to see anything about until they play it.
... Why are they reading the thread if they don't want to know anything about the game before they play it? I mean I'll tag spoilers, but if they seriously don't want to see something as minor as one line of dialog that a character spouts during battle, they probably shouldn't be in the thread in the first place.
I want to unlock the savage theron guard, gotto beat Beast on hardcore and insane for him. :suicide:
To the people bitching about the plot and how the campaign's ending has more questions then answers, I have the one fact that you're all neglecting. Seriously, it explains a fuckton [sp]EPIC WERE MAKING THIS SHIT UP AS THEY WENT ALONG[/sp]

They might have plans for future Gears games.

Seriously, it explains a fuckton [sp]EPIC WERE MAKING THIS SHIT UP AS THEY WENT ALONG[/sp]
Seriously. The only foreshadowing I saw was [sp]whne the lambency left that one lambent drone and joined the others, to imply it was alive or something, but that doesn't even happen in the third game. It was like foreshadowing that was retconned.[/sp]
It says in the game under campaign about story mode DLC I think..
I got Locust Maquette Head, Limited Edition and a Strategy Guide today. I got number 404 out of 500. Sorry for the bad quality, I can upload better quality pictures later.
Not to mention they call this game the final game in the current story arc. They might have plans for future Gears games.
Not might, it's certain. We'll get a prequel set in the pendulum wars, and it'll also explain what happened to Marcus' mum in the Hollows. I'm calling it right now.
