I was thinking about trading my Adam Fenix code for Commando Dom until I read the prices on those at eBay.
Adam Fenix costs more than Commando Dom, apparently.
and where the fuck is my Mechanic Baird code, Best Buy.
ps. I really hope those character skins are coming up as DLCs.
Savage Kantus seems to be only "skinny" character that I enjoy looking at for the locust team. I miss my Skorge :(
Anyone else think the savage drone looks badass?

My premier multiplayer character.
It would be so fucking awesome to be able to play as an Armoured Kantus, but you'd have to do something preposterous like unlock Seriously 3.0
The sires were the original lambent humans if I recall. Somebody mentioned it a few pages back.

the wiki says they were the forefathers to the locusts

What's the citation on that? I've never heard that anywhere before.

some concept art it seems.

It seems like a logical explanation. Nile must have returned with frozen bodies or something from their expedition from that mountain, and he was talking about Origins if I remember correctly.
Yeah but really, if you're doing a story everything should be explained in game, the entire game seemed to assume you knew about everything and the back story to everyone - they just completely blanked the fact that [sp]Dizzy survived[/sp] and assumed you already knew, I mean, I could've probably written a better fucking story than the ass that did Gears 3's.
sawed off shotguns everywhere

People who can't adapt complaining everywhere.

[sp]I'm pretty sure they said somewhere during the game that Tai fought off Skorge while Dizzy got away. [/sp]

No, they didn't. They said [sp]that Dizzy survived Skorge, and that's it. They never explain how.[/sp]
No, they didn't. They said [sp]that Dizzy survived Skorge, and that's it. They never explain how.[/sp]
Hmm, wonder how I came to that conclusion then.
edit: Just rewatched the encounter on youtube, you're right. [sp]Although Dizzy did make a quick mention of Skorge. I must have just put the two together.[/sp]

It's assumed because Tai showed up in that cutscene to fight Skorge, and I think he said 'Run' to Dizzy, I think. In the novels it's all revealed he's A-Okay. And I'm not gonna bother spoiler tagging things from Gears 2 and old books.

Yeah, I mean, it's pretty obvious how he survived if you played the second game. That also leads me to something else that bothered me. They said they wanted Gears 3 to be accessible to new fans of the series so that they can just jump right in and understand everything, right? Well then they'll have no fucking idea who Dizzy is, or who the Queen is, or why the Lambent are showing up, or what any of the Locust even are, or who Dom's wife was, or what you're even fighting for anyways except 'survival'. I mean, I know there's a small movie to explain some things, but it hardly touches on a lot of things that become relevant in this game. New players would be very, very confused.
Gears of war 3 in a nutshell: plots in shambles, online is best part of it (Really best part) and it's also a tough guys opening doors and barbed wire simulator.
I think you guys are giving the plot a bit too much shit. Yeah it wasn't great, but it wasn't as bad as it could have been.

It was the worst plot out of all three games, in my opinion. It was also written by a professional novel writer who is really popular. What do you mean 'as bad as it could have been'?

They could've done a shitty cliff hanger ending that kind of ends the story but gives room for a sequel if they ever wanted to pump another one.

Except they confirmed it would end the trilogy. Putting a cliffhanger in the end wouldn't be bad writing, it would be blatantly lying about the game.
Seriously I don't see a problem with the story at all. Maybe it's because I don't try to look for little details to complain about in the game, or maybe it's because they already said that they didn't answer most of the questions. Just play the game and enjoy it, the campaign was really enjoyable and I love Epic for making it as enjoyable as it was. I don't care about them leaving plotholes.

They said Halo 3 would end the trilogy and look what happened there.

And now we have a new trilogy.
And now we have a new trilogy.
My point was they COULD have done worse for Gears by leaving some tiny bullshit in allowing them to spark it up again. Thankfully there is a full resolution.
IMO it was a big world with a lot to work with, they just didn't put enough info in to make it all that it could've been (the story I mean).
i still think the first game had the best plot and pacing, 2's campaign was pretty bad, but the story was fine
the gameplay of the third's campaign is pretty good, but the pacing and story is so awkward, they fucked up
[editline]24th September 2011[/editline]
either way, i always enjoyed these games for the multiplayer, the story behind gears was nothing ground-breaking it was just incredibly badass

Made by a different company.

Made up of mostly ex-Bungie employees.

Actually, only 1/4 of the staff are ex-Bungie staff.

They didn't even need to put a lot into it. It was such an easy plot to write. The entire plot just needed to be introduce a couple new characters, solve some questions, rescue Adam Fenix, defeat Locust/Lambent. It would have been so, so easy to do if they actually tried.
