Gears of War Megathread V1: I'm coughing up blood that ain't even mine! - Games

Yeah. I was going to try to use them to get a preorder character. :(

Good, it got nerfed. But guess what? Some epic forum members are acting even more superior now. The Gnasher has been dominating the field since gears 1 and still is, and yet the double barrel gets nerfed. I never really understood that, it's just that people get pissed easily and so they take it out on what kills them the most.

It'll still be a little better than the Gnasher, even when nerfed. The SOS can gib an entire team if they're infront of you and at melee range. It also has such a wide cone of fire that if an opponent is in front of you, you're going to hit them. Gnasher takes more skill, and has more range, but for raw killing power it's still not quite as good.

I think even Cliffyb knows that this "feedback" was actually massive amounts of whining, hatemail, and people threatening to leave rather than actual feeedback. I'd nerf the thing just to shut people up too, and I bet he had that mentality too. None of you guys really whined at all which I appreciate because epic forums is full of people who would not shut up about the thing, and even now they won't shut up, AFTER it gets nerfed.

I don't see why it's in. One shotgun was fine. Having another one makes balancing really hard, and it's almost redundant at this point. Cliffy B was being an asshole about it, and his entire mentality to the SOS was 'Deal With It' which kind of makes him a shitty responder to the community.

I won't get any further with it. I'm still neutral about it. Hate dying against it, yet I'm good with it. Anyway.. still hoping the Command center in the dlc will be better than they've shown.

It's something that's horribly unbalanced and unnecessary in what is otherwise a great game. It needs to be fixed. You don't see a problem that could easily be fixed and just say 'Deal with it'.

They decreased the range a little. Now it's at what everyone thought it was at originally, which is still overpowered.

Reducing the range any further and it'd be completely useless compared to the gnasher, so I think it's fine.

I don't see the Sawed off as a problem at all :v: Personally, I only use it to punish those idiots who rush at me with a gnasher in hand a shit-eating-grin on their face. On another topic, Gorgon + Boomsheild = I am an unstoppable force of 'FUCKYOU'!

Turns out, it could, in fact, kill people at longer ranges than the Gnasher could. This means it could kill more people, had a wider cone, and even had more one-shot range than the Gnasher. This means it was better than the Gnasher in almost every way. Now it's back to how it was supposed to be, which is still pretty overpowered.

First ranked TDM i played, I went 10-1..Niiice. Rest of my games were like 2-9 or something worse/as bad. Couldn't do anything for getting 1 shot killed by shotguns or sniped lol. I tried the sawn-off and got a few kills...feels really overpowered once you get in someone's face but I suppose the range makes it okay...it's just a bitch to get close to people with any other weapon. My TDM K/D ration is 0.5 haha. In any other game i'd be on 2.5 Had more luck with KOTH though, currently on 2.6 K/D ratio or something. Tried beast mode, really enjoyed it. Think I'll take a buddy or two with me next time i try TDM :D

So, anyone get a smoke grenade kill yet? I have yet to get one, I have been trying though!

Got the Golden Lancer medal, along with the Golden MVP medal. Unlocked Superstar Cole and hit 46. I also beat Act 2 on Insane. Good progress for a night, I'd say.

Sounds like a job well done, i'm proud of you. :dance:

Maxed out all of the fortifications in horde and got my hands on a liquid green code. It's been a good day.
