Fuck all of you. I play on ITRWoW, a 100% blizzlike private server. No downtime in months (I play all the time), NO lag caused by the actual server (Only lag I've ever experienced was from my laptop, shitty gfx card so shitty FPS, plus I was downloading shit), and 600+ players. No bugs, no fucked up drops, it's great. Not to mention FREE. Prove me wrong.

600+ players? Do you ever see anyone while questing or whatever?
600+ players? Do you ever see anyone while questing or whatever?
I do. I even run into people while in outland, and the main city's are usually packed out. Not so common on private servers.

Impossible.

Why do the players drop to 0 so suddenly if the server hasn't been down in months?

According to lots of people on the forums, you guys still have bugged quests in Northrend, making it near impossible to level without grinding.

Not to mention you have clueless people like this guy:
why ITR is better

ive been playing wow now for close to 6 years. since the begining. or when it was 1st relised. ive spent 3 years on Blizzard. before i came to ITR.
ITR PRO'S : you guys think lag on the server is bad ? shit try playing a over crouded blizzard server. it uses to be so bad you wouild have to wate 15 mins to move when entering iron forge.
ITR PRO'S: a close network comunity. this i enjoy greatly. all my friends are here on ITR. everyone knows everyone. this i like. i dont like just being a nobody lost in the crouds of a blizzard server.
ITR PRO'S: id have to say we have some damn good GM's on ITR. you know who you are. i need not to list names. although i think there shouild be atlease 2 GM's online at all times. sometimes theres not. "almost impossable to contact a GM on Blizzard server".
ITR PRO'S: TOKEN SHOP. the fact you can purchase impossable to obtain items.
ITR PRO'S: "IT IS FREE"
so theres my 5 big reasons why i chouse ITR over blizzard.
thank you ITR.
Close to 6 years of WoW? Yeah, not really. 3 years of retail before 2 years of ITR would mean he had to have played during vanilla, meaning everything he just said is complete bullshit.
You private server kiddies need to stop making shitty posts in the WoW section and just realized you have complete shit servers full of fucking retards.
[editline]02:31AM[/editline]
Oh and you're still on fucking 3.2.2

you are awsome.
Proved him wrong as well.
It was probably Sasuke's last great post. :saddowns:
I learned the ArcEmu Lua API for private servers (there's also a web tool for SQL related stuff, i.e. items) and pretty much made my own world. It's difficult to balance all the items and all...the server was entirely private and restricted to me and me only...so I guess you can say I just liked doing all the developing. The Lua-oriented scripts (I made a few bosses that were actually adequate in relevance to retail boss fights) weren't the only thing I enjoyed, I also enjoyed making cities in unused areas and populating them with all sorts of interactive characters...it was pretty fun.
But, generally, private servers are terrible. It's impossible to replicate retail servers and you have to make every single quest and NPC, nonetheless a Lua script (which is very limited and not possible to do complicated things in, say, boss fights) for every creature that does anything beyond attacking you and moving.
I used to play on a vanilla wow server, it was nice to down Ragnaros again after so long time:)
The server had like 200 people but we were organized so two major guilds raided there. Of course the server had issues but MC/BWL/AQ40 were completely playable. Naxx was bugged out but that was OK since we never got there anyway:P
That's what I think a private server should be all about, reliving old content. Fucking around with imba weapons is fun for 5 minutes max.
My friend had a private server of his own though and that was fun. Designing your own items was awesome!
EDIT: This was something I did between Naxx25 and Ulduar release when retail wow offered a max of 5 hour gameplay per week.
Private servers = win for learning new fights while you wait for other guild raid groups to progress
Makes me feel useless.
My friend plays WoWBeeZ. I saw it and never wanted to see a private server ever again. That shit's just disgraceful.
general question:if you start a P server for pissing around and machinima, can you STILL be banned?
...Private servers won't get you banned in the first place..
I like how everybody thinks Private Servers are crap, and full of custom content ran off a public emu. There was a server called Scapegaming (which got took down because the owner was sued for billions of dollars..) which was decent. 3 realms, 40x rates, 8x rates and 2x rates, and the servers were actually stable. Nowadays, all the servers are pretty crap, apart from two. Which makes me sad, and is why I want to go back to retail.
I played on a 1.12.1 private server (PreTBC). It was fun as fuck

That makes it even better. :v:
The thing is I never actually spoke to Peyton, everything was run through her bodygaurds (higher level GM's). From what I can tell is she's a rotten old hag.
Yeah, I know one of said GMs, and she indeed is a rotten old hag. There was this picture of one of those female stitches versions in Darkshire with her name above it. Was very amusing.

Which one? Trinity?
Which one? Trinity?
Nope, not even sure if the guy I know is from the WoWScape or Scapegaming era.
Oh, I must've read something wrong then.
i would never properly level on one but i think that they are fun to play if you get bored and/or it's maintenance.
