That's because a collision with another ship results in hull breaches. Unless you're a boarding ship, you're going to tear both ships apart.

Serious note: I dig the ship, just seems a bit bland/blocky? Maybe it's due to being a WIP, but you'd think there would be spaceships out there as complex and varied as the differences in alien species.
What I mean to say is: if you gave each species their own unique kind of ship designs, it would add more depth to your characters as a species, not only as a character.
If you guys want to get people hyped into your mod without them constantly complaining about WIP lacking polish, then you should make a contest for FP'ers to submit their own ideas (ie: art concepts) and see which one is most popular, etc. You guys seem so hesitant to let genuinely skilled people here on FP help you guys out, but at the same time it seems like you guys are hurting for work to get done. If the latter is true then I'm sure something like what I considered would likely revitalize the thread and bring Galactopticon back to the state of progression we've all been dying to see since the original thread on GCON. You've guys have had this baby in the works for over a year, don't let it die now.

The idea that I suggested does not detract from any work being currently done... it just allows for the public to come up with interesting art concepts that may (or may not) be used, depending on your choice of course. Other than having to review them I don't see how that's more work for you.

I've offered help in what ways I could offer already, however, I'm simply suggesting ideas to help the mod branch out to the community more. Seems a lot like people who once had high hopes for this mod are now rooting for another, despite the possibility for greatness I've seen in this one. Maybe it's just me. It seems to me like you are wrong. There is no "I support this mod over this mod" attitude in the modding world. Galaptopticon is entirely different to say, Ivan's secrets or whatever and just because more people are looking at Ivan's secrets doesn't mean that Galaptopticon is actually failing in any way at all.

Basically, this thread only exists as a place to post their work and then read the subsequent reactions, but NOT any suggestions. Point out errors, sure, but nothing that they weren't going to do anyway.
