The cab could spontaneously explode as soon as they get out of it, and Solomon could think to himself that it was lucky they weren't on it, otherwise it could have led to the beginnings of some crazy adventure or something.
Model something to replace the city-scanner. I could see something like that, although cleaner looking, in an oppressive futuristic society.

It means doing a whole bunch of work on a partially-scrolling texture (not sure if that's even possible) to create an effect that's kind of garish and doesn't add anything to the gameplay or story.

Last thing you need is some flying piece of trash, that keeps taunting you. So, unless it was possible to command it citizen-mindcontrol-using-no-words-and-just-eyes method, to act as a mobile cover, it'll be annoyingly useless.
