That's how aliens snipe. They just reach out over hundreds of yards and shoot you point blank.
this made me laugh out loud
So, would punching someone with those fists would qualify as melee or ranged combat?
intrurder alert
Forget Spaceships, just reach for the planet and pull yourself to it.
it would more certainly be an amusing ability if Solomon was able to stretch some of his limbs to an extent

I guess then he wouldn't need Ziagra 6.
Why cant I just have a lasergun which fires from solar power or something, or at least rechargable batteries. I mean, its the fucking future.

This is the progress on the first level of the game. Almost all brushwork is done, so gameplay additions are coming in soon. (Hopefully)
Heh, wish I could fathom how to create HDR skyboxes properly, you do awesome stuff right there
Fucking theighty got banned again.

You should do gameplay first the brushwork. You should not try to build a level and insert gameplay into it because that is where balance, noding, and combat issues all arise from.
You block out a level and nail down the gameplay first.
It's the exact problem that plagued the testlevel.
Jaanus went decorative rather than gameplay first (No offensive Jaanus, it was nice actually work) because it was a test, as a result walking out that door on a diffuclty higher than 'easy' resulted in rape.
And as you're supposed to base your levels around the 'normal' difficulty, you plan out gameplan and nail it down first.
/rant.

On a related note, don't put large battles right after you walk out a door, because you can just back up through the door and close it whenever you get low on health or need to reload.
you may have noticed that the map is actually being blocked out first. There's not a single level-specific model or texture on the entire thing
Should stick a random alien with the combine soldier bugbait_hit animation on the stripper pole, add some class to the scene.
we might be using motion capture to do some animations
we might be using motion capture to do some animations
Isn't that really expensive?
Isn't that really expensive?
If any of them do compscience at university or college, it's more than likely that they'll have facilities for that at their disposal
we might be using motion capture to do some animations
Do you have any animations in mind, or are you just thinking "maybe we could do some"?

Ok, Im statisified now.
[editline]01:17PM[/editline]
Motion Capturing can be done with 2 cameras.

We're (hopefully) going to a motion capture place.

Valve use the same technology as source fully supports motion capture input. Their TF2 Characters and many of the L4D ones were done the same way.
They said somewhere that some guy had to do 500 odd takes of flailing around for the L4D zombie anims.

:aaa:
It will be awesome.
Mr Chops; map's looking great.
