What's up with the disturbing amount of empty space in the upper right corner?
Wip
If you guys ever need someone to design some in-game ads then hook me up. I got lots of free time.
For reference: I made the Dark Matter banner.
hooking you up

uh, you've p much got free hands I guess. If you've got ideas for ad screens, let me know.
So far for ads we have the scrolling screen and the huge billboards
[editline]18th October 2010[/editline]
poster decals would be great too
[editline]18th October 2010[/editline]
and product related graffiti and such
ok
Great concept, bad font. Make the text look better and I'll put it in.
What's the exact resolution for those ads again? I take it the height has to be the same on all, but the width may vary? (as it will be scrolling)
Helvetica is the best font, anyone who uses arial is a faggot.

256x2048. You see roughly a third of that at a time
[editline]19th October 2010[/editline]
Also, what could this be for?

Obviously it's a new gun that you can pick up that automatically shoots little jets of steam at any non-mechanical enemies within 300 units of the player.
[editline]19th October 2010[/editline]
Voice activated too.
Its two levers.
Futuristic automatic chopsticks.

I'd like to take this opportunity to reiterate that 3D Studio Max is one of the worst programs of all time
e.g. the fact that mirroring the side turret you see in the picture caused the smoothing to break, despite the fact that all the smoothing groups are still properly set and the verts are still connected

Did you use Mirror or Symmetry on it? Mirror's borked as fuck, but I've never had a problem with Symmetry.
Oh, sorry I've been gone for so long. I've had a stroke of bad luck and had to take care of it.
Yeah use symmetry.
Isn't it common sense not to include something broken in a program?
[editline]19th October 2010[/editline]
for autodesk it seems to be the opposite

3dsmax has always included buggy and broken components. But half the time there's always another modifier (or even a freeware plugin) that does the required job slightly better.

or the fact that "undo" just stops working after about 1 hour of use.
Yeah, that too.
Or modifiers in general. Or the fact that there's no paint-select option and you have to click each polygon to select it.
