Once free-trade and wilderness are brought back, we should organize "The Face-Punch Veterans Weekend"!
Basically, we all meet in one world. We party and then inform all the returning members with whats happened these few years!
I think it would be a great way to welcome returning members, especially when many of their friends have stopped playing/moved onto to different games.
We should probably set up a F2P gathering and a P2P gathering.

You know, I always hated the Wilderness. Having to go there to do quests and engage in some activities made it incredibly irritating. I once went in with just a pickaxe and some guy attacked me. I told him "I'm going to drop 1 coal and cost you some food." and he said "lol" and went for me anyway. It's a fucking hole of griefers and dipshits. Granted, I did use that to my advantage when some friends decided it was payback time. Go in looking vulnerable, some guy attacks you, run around a bit to burn his stam while crying "AWW ****ING LAG" and then run right into your pack of friends. Easy money.

Shame you voted no... I'm not sure if we even had any quests that involved us running through the wildy before 2007 though, the only reason we would were "forced" to go in there would be for clue scrolls. But even then, hopping to a smaller world pretty much solved that problem. As long as you avoided the pk'ing "hotspots", it would be easy.
Oh, according to Mod MMG/CEO guy, if the wildy/FT were to be brought back, he said he would like to see in the region on 1.2m Votes for it (Although he admitted he isn't speaking on behalf of the Jagex team)
There were a few quests and some other things to do that required you to go through the wildy first.
You know, I started RS in March 2001? That was the third month the game was running. There was no wildy back then man. You were either PVP or you weren't, and pvp was global across RS. Anytime, anywhere. Most people ran a PVP alt. Granted, there weren't even item banks when I started... banks kept GP and that was it. Anyway, not saying that system was better, just wanted to point out PVP in RS has evolved quite a bit. Wilderness was supposed to be a temporary solution we were told. Then again, back in the summer of 2001, we were told Player Owned Houses were coming out soon and areas of Varrock and Falador were reserved for that lol.

Aha fair enough! I don't want to make it seem like I'm jumping on anyone that voted "no" for what it's worth. I've spent too much time arguing with people over the runescape forums about this, I don't want to lash out on guys that have their legit reasons for not wanting it back, there's a solid argument for both sides
