You need a big group of people that buying shitloads of said item for max price, this makes the price rise a lot. Then once it hits a certain price, everyone sells for max, and profit is made, thats called dumping

Solo merching doesn't fail at all, if you can't do it, the problem lies with you. The graph is usually all you need. With groups, you're often dependant on the group leaders

Nah thats pretty much a pyramid scam, the people who get in early buy it out at low price, then advise other people to buy it and keep buying it till it hits a high price, which is the dumb value.
Before it gets to the dump value, the runners of the clans sell up, make massive profit, then leave many players with junk that has massive supply and no demand.
Merching by yourself is generally safer if you know what youre doing, buy a little under average price and resell a little over. i do it with rune items, as many others do, the price is fairly consistant but because its heavily used on F2P and in PvP on either, they are constantly bought, so you can flip them pretty easily
