Heirlooms aren't necessary, leveling is easy enough without them.

It's not really for the XP gain it's more the stat gain when doing PvP at lower levels.

I wonder if Blizzard got any ideas from SWTOR for their quests. Halfway through Hillsbrad right now and have done a few quests where you have class-based companions with you like a priest and a hunter at sludge fields. Good stuff.

Which quests?
in howling fjord you had companions that fought with you at the vykrul place after you got them out of the cage. They even buffed you too. It's not really a new concept
Just had a hunter in a dungeon that was pulling groups before the tank,refused to stop dps/change target when he pulled aggro and then screamed at the tank when he pulled aggro on a mob that was barley being tanked.
He was nuking the mob
