Went with gobbo for the racials and such. Already made 700g from mining and it's been 40 minutes... Liking this already

That's the equivalent of levelling 3 toons to 85 and 40 DK's to 80 in wrath.

DKP is a loot system designed to give more loot to those who participate in raids more frequently. Generally DKP can be awarded for being on time, not being stupid during a boss fight, and general boss kills/raids.
When items drop you spend the points you've earned on items, by bidding on them. Exactly how the points are awarded and spent varies from system to system and even guild to guild. Not my favorite loot system, but it's pretty popular.
