Ripsnarl isn't :saddowns:
Ripsnarl was the easiest part of the instance for me
Probably because I'd gone through so many bad groups that what was left was something resembling decent.
One group didn't get above 4000 DPS/person.
Foe reaver 5000 was the worst. Took so many tries.
[editline]25th January 2011[/editline]
actually, no, the trash pulls were worse because the only party member who stuck with me the entire time was a chain-pulling DK
You have the patience of a saint..
Foe reaver I find easy, but the other day the tank thought it was a good idea to tank it by the forge. A wipe soon followed.

If I do a dungeon, I stick to it.
It was really painful to be forced to quit because of that evade bug, especially so close to the end.
Ah well. I'll probably get an opportunity to try it again some time.
In what way does the race you pick affect your stats/skills?
Oh, and if I get the game, which expansions should I get right away (and I mean NEEDED expansions, not the ones you're supposed to buy because of peer pressure)?
Should I get Cataclysm straight away or need I not bother with the high level areas just yet?
If you look on WoWPedia the class pages give you a breakdown on which race starts with which stats (it's different on a per class basis.) At the end of the day it is an incredibly minute difference. The only thing that should really sway your choice is Racials. For example, the Human racial Every Man for Himself is essentially a second PvP trinket and it comes in very handy.
Still, Racials aren't a huge game changer early on (although if you try low level PvP, people with better racials than you will have a slight advantage.. Especially Goblins,) with your first character it's better to just go for the race you like the look of, don't worry about Min/Maxing yet.
As for expansions, you don't NEED any of them right away unless you want the new races and the new class. Burning Crusade will give you Blood Elves and Draenei, Wrath of the Lich King will give you Death Knights at level 55 (though I reccomend you don't roll one until you have your first toon at the level cap) and Cataclysm will give you Goblins and Worgen.
In my opinion you should get the Battlechest (it's very cheap these days) which includes Classic and Burning Crusade, once you get to level 68 get Wrath and once you're at 80 get Cataclysm.
hoyl shit
64 orc fire mage rocks
You know you're doing something wrong when you play the trial for a few hours and think to yourself 'why the fuck am I not playing this yet'.
You need Burning and Wrath for Cataclysm. Basically, unless you want to be a Draenei/Blood Elf/Worgen/Goblin or Death Knight (not a good class for beginners really anyway) buy the expansions when you need them, ie
Burning Crusade: level 58-60
Wrath of the Lich King: 68-70
Cataclysm: 80
58 and 68 are the first levels you can begin the content of those expansions. If you see a good deal for all 3 expansions however, you may be best off buying them as a set and saving a bit on individual purchases.

70 euros for the complete pack, yes or no?
Sounds okay-ish but I still wouldn't recommend getting the expansions until you actually need them.
I would wait till needed at that price
No biggie, I can pick up the battlechest for about 20 euros.
But....goblins....worgens!
it's up to you mate, if you think its worth it or want a cata race, go for it.
I told my friend to wait on any expansions until he's played til at least 50-58 and decides he still enjoys it because if he buys the game and all 3 expansions and decides he's sick of it early it's a waste of money.

At the end of the day it's totally up to you, my only thought is that you might not want to play WoW for long, it's not everyone's cup of tea. If you only play it for a few days then it's sort of a waste of 70 Euros.
i fucking hate heirloom fags that play low level bgs just because they cant kill anyone on their main
there is atleast 1 full heirloom pally on the other team that 2 shots everyone that doesnt have heirlooms and it is annoying as shit

Either that or they're just people levelling alts?
Either that or they're just people levelling alts?
you get (alot) more experience (with the guild perk, and full heirloom exp bonuses) by doing random dungeons than by doing bgs
Maybe they don't care about speed and just want to enjoy what they're doing? I'm alternating between BGs and Dungeons while levelling my Warrior just because I want some variation v:v:v Not everyone in low level BGs is an asshole who just wants to make lowbies miserable.
The same can't be said for low level dungeons though.
I agree, doing BG's is more fun than dungeons anyway. So you can't really condemn him for wanting to do something fun.
Just bought the battlechest, here goes nothing.
On a lighter note, I just found out that WoW supports direct payments from my bank account!
Hasn't it always?
Hasn't it always?
Didn't it only support those newfangled credit cards or whatever?
Besides, I live in Europe, don't know what it was like in the US of A.

Levelling my rogue, I preferred beating the shit out of Horde scum in BG's than raging at people that don't quite know how to play the game yet and rolling on intellect gear as a tank in Dungeons.

I am currently leveling a Goblin rogue - primarily through PvP - and I have to agree. While I do have heirloom items, I have never felt that they gave me any sort of distinct advantage, but for a specific reason: I started entering BGs around level 30, and almost all of my other pieces of gear were greens from the 15-20 range. During that time, however, I did encounter quite a few players decked out in heirlooms and rare gear (mostly paladins [fuck 'em]). It really does ruin the fun to be steamrolled by an essentially unbeatable player.
I'm enjoying 60+ PvP much more because there is greater parity in terms of gear. More than half of the players I see in BGs have full or partial sets of the level 60 PvP gear (which looks awesome, by the way). I have a lot of nice gear too, at this point; but I actually earned almost all of it. Feels good man.
PvP is a blast in general - especially when you top BGs nine times out of ten. :smug:
I wish that there was more world PvP, though.
100 rating away from 1550

If I return, I will join the server my college friends are on(and yes, they are in the glorious red/Horde army). Fuck the Alliance, oh wait, I forgot, the Horde now has the hottest chicks as well, what does the Alliance have?

QFT, I'm leveling a Shaman strictly in BGs and only with honor gear to see how I should suggest Blizzard to change it, and this has been true every BG.
Just buy the regular game and/or TBC if you can find a cheap pack with it.
Races only affect you with their racial skills I am pretty sure, if there is a stat difference it's negligible.
