Stop fucking complaining your games are dirt cheap, I saw a copy of Starcraft at EB selling for 40 fucking dollars. Jesus christ I'm tired of americans complaining.

UK - 48 USD USA - 60 USD Europe - 67 USD Australia - 71 USD Steam? Go fuck yourself. Why do Aussies pay TWENTY-THREE bucks more than Brits? Why do Europeans pay NINETEEN bucks more than Brits? What? Life is cheap here? Fuck you. Fuck that, even Americans pay TWELVE fucking bucks more than Brits. What the fuck.
Above example is from Crysis 2. I'm from Europe, why do I pay more than Brits and Americans?
Above example is from Crysis 2. I'm from Europe, why do I pay more than Brits and Americans?
Because big bad men in suits want more money in their pockets
That's really weird. Crysis 2 and Bulletstorm are only £30 here; kinda fucked. Can't you guys like spoof your IP or some shit and get it cheaper. Or if you want send me paypal and I'll gift it to you :smug:
What the fuck. You're complaining about $60 games? A new game costs anywhere from $110 to $130nzd, so: Fuck the lot of you
Because they all want you know
ITT: Waaahhh!! but it's even more expensive here, you have no right to complain!!!1 And EA saw how well it worked out for Activision so they're doing the same, good job buying the last CoD's for 60$ on digital distribution guys.
People still buy them, thats why.
UK price is still £30 for all of EA's games. :smug:
Weren't most PC games £25? I got Bad Company 2, Just Cause 2, Crysis 2 and Batman for £25 each. Portal 2 and Bulletstorm cost £30 though and I won't buy them until they are £25 again. I have enough games to play and work to do until then. All of them cost £40-£45 here though. That's why I always import them and never buy them on expensive-as-fuck Steam.
Stop complaining, the average PC game price in sweden is $69
Maybe, just maybe, the value of money has changed lately...
[IMG_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/FSGQJ.jpg[/IMG_thumb] Taken from the cheapest game store in sweden. Getting dumb for showing that sweden has expensive games already, derp.
I dont see why a thread concerning american prices has to do with any other country if you dont pay for the game in american dollars.
Getting dumb for showing that sweden has expensive games already, derp.

And please don't say "well don't buy it then durr" (well I'm not going to anyway!) or "it's just $10." Or "I'm in Australia and I had to get a second mortgage to pay for one game! You Americans have it easy"
New PC games in Russia are about 35$ retail, but console games are 100$. Hehe.
Stop complaining, the average PC game price in sweden is $69
That has nothing to do with devs raising prices, Sweden has high VAT for games...
Piracy tax. Since apparently 99% of PC owners pirate games, they gotta charge more to be able to cover production costs and such from the 1% that actually buy the game. Seriously though, since things like food, transportation and such are getting more expensive, it was only a matter of time before games, regardless of platform, went up in price.
I pre-ordered Crysis 2 for £25 on Amazon, that's like 40USD. Sucks to be American I guess.
games in norway costs 120 dollars + so quit your whining
I dont see why a thread concerning american prices has to do with any other country if you dont pay for the game in american dollars.
Because other places have it harder. Same thing when fuel prices go up
It kind of makes me laugh, actually. A lot of Americans are willing to throw out 200+ to buy an iphone and then spend another $100 a month just for the plan to keep it going, and yet whine about a price increase on a game that isn't any form of necessity. You just have to save a little longer, that's all. I'm just going to have to put my games up on birthday/Christmas lists now. Oh, and I bought Portal online the other day for $40...so that's not all bad, right?
The fact you have a Christmas/birthday list speak volumes. It's okay because mummy and daddy will just buy me them. They won't mind shelling out the extreme money because they have an infinite supply. Right?
One company does it, and others will follow suit. Danke, Activision.
Yeah but then you've got Capcom who actually lowered there PC games to $40
Out of curiosity, what do other things cost in Australia and New Zealand? Like what are houses selling for, what is an average salary, etc?
Game prices used to be much higher... N64 games used to be $70. Quit whining.
God I remember N64 games, but that was kind of justified in the fact they cost a lot more to make than discs. And they never broke, dont work? Blow it.
Game prices used to be much higher... [img_thumb]http://static.arstechnica.com/gaming/genesiscatalog-inflation-adjusted.jpg[/img_thumb] N64 games used to be $70. Quit whining.
Yeah but those where cartridge based. Since cartridges cost more to produce they wanted to price it that way so they could make some profit. Though even then I guess thats still expensive.
One word describes all this: Bullshit. Good thing we have companies like Valve, still. And Indie games are just plain awesome. Magicka, Amnesia, Audiosurf, Super Meat Boy, Garry's Mod...
Or pretty much every game company besides Activision and EA.
Yep because we need money to make more copies of a digitally distributed game.
The extra money isn't for the distribution prices. The price of living (food, gas, clothes) continually rises, so game companies have to pay their employees more. In order to make a profit off their games, they have to sell their games for a higher cost (or so they think).
If games would cost 50/60$ here, i'd gladly buy them. Now i only buy the 5$ deals on christmas.
ITT: bitching kids who can't grasp the concept of inflation rate me dumb cuz you know its true
Bullshit I remember buying ps1 games when it was the console of the moment, and the best new games didnt go fro 40€ upwards unless they were made of gold. Then pc games costed 45€, then 50, and now 60. But the only company that I saw doing this was activision, with mw2. Funny story, I bought mw2 for 50€. On steam was already 60, and some time later, so was retail. Now, because of this, more companies will do it And the worst part in all this is that games are starting to suck and to pale in comparison to older titles. More half assed games for more money. Or should I say, reskins?
They want more money.
They generate 31 million alone off FIFA 11 Ultimate Team.
